The gameplay is actually pretty fun.
But hoo boy. The bugs. This game is completely broken. Constant disconnects over random garbage. Sometimes the game says you have the wrong version even when you're up to date. Or randomly disconnects mid round. And the lobby system is awful too. You either cant get in because lobbies fill too quickly, or you sit in a half-empty lobby waiting 10 minutes for players. And of course theres a pretty big issue with players teaming. Good gameplay, broken game. Not recommended.

Yuppie Psycho is a pixel-art horror RPG in the vein of old RPG-maker horror games such as Ib, The Mad Father, and The Witch's House.

This game absolutely oozes character; with wonderfully creative environments, excellently manipulated sound design which enhances every part of the experience, a colorful cast of characters, and writing which intrigues and pulls the player along. Yuppie Psycho is very alluring. That said, it does have it's share of shortcomings.

Many elements of the story feel glossed over. Many questions are left unanswered. Characters are left underdeveloped. Environments are hinted at but left unexplored. The conclusion to the mystery just drops into the players lap in the end, which is very unrewarding. And all of the endings are mostly the same, leaving the player to feel like they have no agency; admittedly, that may be intentional, as it fits thematically with the player being a powerless office worker.

And yet despite all that, Yuppie Psycho is still a strong recommendation; I only make such criticisms because I loved the game, and because Id love to see more of it. But in the end, its still an experience I would recommend, especially for anyone who is searching for a unique experience or who is a fan of horror or mystery games.

BlazBlue is the series that has acted as my gateway to 2D fighters.
If you're a fan of 2D fighting games (and even if you aren't yet!) then this should certainly be a part of your collection. Excellent sprites and stages, a solid soundtrack, an in-depth combo system and a very diverse cast of characters. Theres something here for beginners and veterans alike.
This game acts as the conclusion to the series so it might be better to get one of the older games if you're interested in the story.
Netplay is region locked but you can still play with people from other regions that you invite via steam or you can use a patch to get around the lock that you can find on the game's community page.
The game is a port and there have been some issues since release, but most of them have been fixed and the developer has been actively pushing out patches.
The biggest downside is that this particular entry in the series doesn't have english Voice Actors and it likely never will.
Overall, highly recommended.
