It is an amazing game, one of the best games I've played in my entire life. Such a shame that a bunch of scumbags decided to reviewbomb this masterpiece because of something entirely unrelated to this game. Bunch of cowards!

I am yet to figure out why this game clicks so much with me. Fantastic! Addressing some of the criticism from others:

- I played Dying Light before and I think that it is (subjectively speaking) not better than Dead Island (unless you are in love with parkour; I am not)
- Some mention bugs. I am playing Act II atm and the game seems super-polished; not a single bug so far
- Difficulty: no, the game is not difficult, are you kidding me? "Zombies hit too hard" - don't even listen to it, it sounds like a Zombie Dark Souls, which it is absolutely not
- Final boss fight: unfortunately, it is true for many games because only few people reach the final level in game statistically, which means that it makes no sense to devote lots of resources in to a final boss... (note that I did not play it to the end yet)

If you like melee first person fights, you should get this one! :D

Early Access Review
Pros: great art style and game feel. Love the music and sound design. Great idea.

Cons: The UX experience is VERY unintuitive, lack of feedback from the game, even after 50 min of playing (I also played the tutorial twice) I was unsure what is going on very often. Questionable balance: in one of the matches with an opponent with stronger units (2 paladins VS my shieldmaiden and executioner) my units started in the water while both (!!!) paladins were on the ground. Like, it would take some trickery to win against stronger units, I get it, it's possible OK? But you would also put me at a bigger disadvantage? C'mon...

I like this game art and mechanics and wish it well, however I think that at this point this game is quite irritating, so it requires work. I won first matches, though, but I could see that often people simply did not know what the heck they were doing, which tells more of the game rather of the people.

You know it goes: your game art is what makes people interested, but it's the solid gameplay that makes them stay.

Cheers!

A decent little, yet quite atmospheric, game. Yes, there were some poor game design decisions and the narrative/story is quite meh, but overall it's pretty well-made. Has decent voice acting, but the narrative is, again, quite pedestrian. Cringy ending and some plot twists that don't add up, so if you are after that, probably ignore. Otherwise, if you after some casual platforming experience, this is perfect for when you are bored and don't know what to play :)

Great little game with heart-wrenching story that takes you back to somewhat Jungian moments of your childhood where you are left alone and forgotten, trapped inside emotional prison, while seeking escape from the Monster in the darkness of your closet. Especially I would like to pinpoint amazing music and sound effects design, great job!

Amazing game, one of a kind! Such shame it has to be shut down!.. Evolve will always have a special place in my heart.

It's like a breath of fresh air. Decent, well-polished game for a great single player experience, Bethesda has a lot to learn from Id Software in term of development, DOOM looks superior to Fallout 4 and runs with no framedrops. I feel like one play-through is enough, though.

Multiplayer is not good, in my opinion, because it's not "out-of-the-box", since you need to level up and other players already have perks and weapons that you have no clue about. So as a beginner you very often won't know what killed you, which is bollocks.

Very good, I can't add anythin to what was already said. Klei is a mark of excellence.

EDIT: Also, the ending is brilliant. Watch out, don't spoil it for yourself.
