This is a really excellent game

edit: okay after a while i've gotten to really gather my thoughts about this

i think the first game is better by a long shot. not that this one isn't really good but i was much more immersed in the first game due to how much i felt like i was actually part of the erlin's eye's community toward the end. it really gave me a sense of belonging in that game even despite our character being rather solitary.

whereas in this game, it didn't really feel like i was a part of a crew, it felt more like a typical rpg party system where characters just happen to join you on your journey while not really affecting much in the story other than missions specific to those characters and maybe a few dialogues, though there is one exception to this.

i really think it could've helped a lot more if we had ways to talk to our crewmates either on missions or more random dialogs popping up while travelling between locations between the crew. (more dialogs from crewmates on missions in general really)

that being said, it's not like this is a mark on the game itself, its just my nitpick about the game that nagged at me.

i liked it, i thought there were some questionable choices in how some of the stuff was implemented and some encounters were more frustrating than fun, the deck system was only really fun toward the end, a solid 6/10, just good enough

another solid game from thunderful, like many other reviews are saying, if you liked the first game then you'll like this one. pretty much expanded on everything good. it doesn't depart too far from the first game which is a positive in my opinion. if you like xcom-esque type games then you oughta try this out.

game looks awful, is poorly structured with weird flag triggers that're hard to find and the story is barely passable imo.

get it only on a sale and if you REALLY want to play it yourself instead of just looking up the story beats online.

game was looking for a checkmate for half an hour, forfeited and crashed

10/10 please play this game

this is a good game by itself, doesnt really feel like a bioshock game to me as i played through the game. a lot of the charm from the first two game kind of disappeared in this game
