This is one of those games where you can't really enjoy combat at a higher difficulty. I'm all for a good challenge, but everything basically one shots you in Ranger Hardcore. Then there's the really dumbed down, W+M1 enemies that do nothing but waste entire magazines. A far cry from Last Light's combat.

The story of the game is paced horribly, and does not match well with gameplay. It's incredibly immersion breaking when you're walking around, doing your objectives, only to hear the NPC's monologue on and on about their life. Incredibly annoying too, since you could very well be in combat while Anna is blaring into your ear about how much she loves you.
Then there's the story, which makes NO sense from the beginning. I've spent a good chunk of my time wondering why the hell is my character doing what he's doing while everybody else is talking about how worried they are. Also, why the hell do the NPC's block my path?!! Jesus christ, let me do my mission.


The developers really, really took the whole "player does everything and the game is self aware" to the next level, almost to the point of annoyance.

So, do I recommend this game? I do. There's some good things to this game, mostly the fact that I enjoy this game when I'm not sober.
If Exodus wasn't so fixated on cuckolding me from my digital wife, I suppose the choices characters make in this game make sense. But they don't, so. You'll find a better story, and animation design in Red Dead Redemption 2. Only die hard fans would like Metro.

I now propose the Metro Exodus: Vodka challenge. Take a shot whenever you find yourself locked out of normal gameplay such as a cutscene or a QTE.

A damn good f*cking game if I may say so.This game has a special place in my heart. It's been there during my darkest hours.It's been a tough couple of years trying to get my life back together. I remember purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2 the moment it was released on Steam; and since then, it has played a huge part in my recovery.Been a huge gamer of 20+ years of my life, and no video game or media piece has moved me like RDR2 has. Here I am, watching the sun slowly set as I ride west.Thank you, Rockstar. I've been given the opportunity to play my childhood fantasies and I couldn't have been more happier. It has been one hell of a therapeutic ride.

This game is a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough worthy for your investment.
