I've finished Dishonored 2 with 100% (and all achievements).

The first time I played this game, I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting. After playing Dishonored for 100+ hours it felt strange to go back into the world not knowing the layout of the levels, but after changing the controls to be as similar to Dishonored as possible, Dishonored 2 felt just like home. The graphics are of a much higher level, and are drop dead gorgeous - except when the engine struggles to keep the game above 60 fps.

Other than the obvious performance issues on PC (which seem to get better with each patch) the game world is beautiful, the gameplay is so much fun, both Corvo and Emily are enjoyable. I played through the first time as Emily (with powers) and then did a run as Corvo in 'Flesh and Steel' mode. I also did another run as Corvo with powers to wrap up the rest of the achievements.

Overall, I really enjoyed Dishonored 2 - the highlights being:
  • The art
  • The world
  • The story
  • The gameplay

Well worth the money.

One of the best games I've ever played: the Witcher 3 is a dense, rich world with interesting characters and diverse quests. CD Projekt Red deserves the plethora of awards this game won - including the awards for it's expansions. The Witcher 3 is an experience unmatched in today's gaming market, a must play for anyone that enjoys fantasy, RPGs or exploration focused games.

Early Access Review
The Long Dark is one of my favourite games of all time.

I'm updating this review to reflect the game in it's current state as of February 2017, because absolutely so much has changed. Hinterland Studios is dedicated to this game in a way I haven't seen for an early access studio before - their updates aren't large, but are packed with refined features and fixes. The quality of the game overall is incredibly high for an EA title.

Some of the things I love most about The Long Dark:
  • The world - not super dense, but incredibly well designed. The flora and fauna of Northern Canada is accurate and gorgeous, with each location in the game being unique with it's own distinct character.
  • The gameplay - the systems in place in this game are insanely complex. The calorie management, the clothing management, heat, wetness, ammunition, leatherworking, crafting and exploration all work so closely in tandem to make a believable and real survival situation.
  • The exploration - this game is best played as an explorer. You can hunker down and hoard as much as you want, but The Long Dark is a game for wanderers. To make your way through the regions of Great Bear island is incredibly rewarding.

With additions like story mode on the way, this game is bound to only get better. It runs incredibly well, does it's art style incredibly well, and is overall a very rewarding experience to play.

I hope you decide to pick up this game, it's well worth the money.
