Risk of Rain 2 is one of my favourite rogue-lite games.

The art style is amazing, following a mix of realism and, vibrant, and colour palette changes depending on the level/activity. There are a dozen different environments you can explore as you progress from level to level, that all look amazing.

The game’s UI is very well designed, looks very clean, and isn’t too crowded.

The music is one of the best aspects of the game. In most games I play, I end up turning the music off or putting it on low, but this game is an excepting. The composer did a great job! The sound effects are also very good and add a lot to the experience.

I find the characters very memorable since they are all unique from each other in both appearance and abilities. So, your playstyle will great vary depending on the character you chose. Their abilities are great and well balanced, there isn’t a character better than another, and you can stake items (special effects) to infinity, increasing the accuracy, agility, immunity, and strength of your character. Drones can also be found in each level to assist you (healing, firepower, …).

Both the items and characters as well as their abilities, need to be unlocked by completing challenges.

There are secret levels and mechanics to discover on your own or to research ;) The game difficulty is challenging. It scales with the number of players in the game and gets harder and the monster gain more abilities the further you progress.

You can also unlock artifacts, which are game modifies, that can be enabled or disabled to alter major aspects of the game.

I would rate this game a solid 9/10.

It is very addictive, looks and sounds great, and is highly customizable. You will never have the same run twice.
