I'm not sure what compelled me to get this game in the first place but I find myself thinking a lot about the overarching story being told. This game is an acquired taste as graphically it doesn't compare to a "AAA" game but the amount of voice acting is great, especially on a subsequent play through and we can see the voice lines are nuanced after the fact .
This game is a metaphor for the factors of what causes a person to be who they are. Not many people will appreciate this game but I recommend it for people trying to get more in touch with who they are.

I played this some months after thoroughly enjoying death stranding.

This game is hard to recommend.
The gameplay plays like the precursor to death stranding but it's clear that it takes a commitment of time to truly appreciate the content that you unlock as you progress through the game. This game was the last game released under Hideo Kojima at Konami and I'm speculating there must have been a lot of high level decisions involved in making this game. A lot of features in the game are to be discovered and to be made adaptable to how you approach the game.
This is my first entry into the Metal Gear series and no, I wasn't salty about the story.
I played using mouse and keyboard though it might be more enjoyable with a controller.

If you decide to play this game, my tip would be to try to play cassette tapes while your on missions whenever you can to keep yourself from going bored.

An in-depth self-paced monster hunter type of game.
Coupled with improved texture mods [www.nexusmods.com], it makes for a pretty enjoyable experience.

Overpriced for what it gives...
It is highly repetitive to play at hard difficulty though I did buy this for the nostalgia.
If you do buy this game, I recommend turning off battle cut scenes as you will be grinding levels most of the game to level up your digimon in order to be able to progress the storyline!

It's free and has a pretty good player base at all hours
