Played the first two levels, very fun game. It is exactly what I was hoping for as a long time fan of the Snowboard Kids games. It genuinely feels like those with a modern coat of paint, and that's perfect. The speed feels very good, and it translates well to you, the player. I felt myself swaying to the sides when I would take turns. The items feel a little annoying purely because you practically don't need to aim half of them, they all just home in. That's my only gripe at this moment though. If you're a fan of Mario Kart or Snowboard Kids and have some friends to play this with, give it a try.

Phenomenal game, idiotic PSN requirements. It doesn't affect me in any way (though I don't like making new accounts for no reason), but solidarity with any divers from Africa, the Baltics, the Philippines, and any other region that is unable to make PSN accounts. Awful requirement, uninstalling and refusing to play until it's rolled back.

EDIT: Sony sucks, screw multi-account games and their publishers. Helldivers 2 is a phenomenal game, the devs are by far some of the best devs you can possibly support in the industry. If you like Deep Rock Galactic, Left 4 Dead, or any other group co-op horde shooter type game, you will love this game an infinite amount.

EDIT: Back to negative, those 177 countries still have the game unlisted even though the account linking is supposedly gone?

Be very wary of this. I don't know if it's a mistake with my game specifically, or if it's false advertising with the game, but I was only able to play until escaping the valley and then was told "Thank you for playing the beta!" I was under the impression this was the full game, and I'm like 95% sure that it is, but somehow it stopped me after that point.

I did carry over my save from the demo, so maybe that's the issue somehow?

The game is fantastic so far, but just to make sure people are aware that this is either an unintended issue or false advertising about the completedness of this game, I'm gonna make this review negative. If this is just a small bug that can be fixed, then obviously it doesn't deserve that.

EDIT: It was indeed my own fault that this happened, though like other people said, there shouldn't really be an option to continue from a demo save if it causes this issue. Regardless of that, this game is very fun and now that I know it's just mistake, I would definitely recommend it.

Secret Word: Discovery

Interesting finale to the trilogy, I'm curious to see what the game that is released ends up being.

Neat little game, the questions were fun and it was very quick so no huge time sink. At the end it told me something that I realize I do, and further expanded upon it in a way that honestly made a lot of sense. How it do that?

My word: Love

Seems very fun, but as of right now the Campaign does not let you go past the first level. You finish all the waves up til the last wave, which says "Victory!", but the game never actually goes to that last Victory wave, so you just sit there until you decide to quit. You can choose levels by hand rather than playing the campaign, but I would like to go in order. So until the devs see this and push out what I hope is a small fix, I'd hold off on it.

Other than that issue, the game seems extremely fun, especially if you're someone who loves theorycrafting and very in depth systems in games.

EDIT: The Dev fixed this issue within 1 hour and that was really my only issue with it so far. It seems extremely fun and looks like it has a whole lot of potential for hours of fun and trying new strategies. Big thumbs up from me.

There's definitely some potential here but it's held back right now by sloppy and frustrating mechanics and lack of knowledge in game. I know the devs said that they would add more content, but there's some changes that really need to be made prior to that.

First off, for the love of god, add the ability to either turn off or rebind dodging. I don't know if I just missed the option because I looked all over, but holy hell is it infuriating. Multiple times during my 30 minutes the dodging made me either take damage or just flat out die because I forget that double tapping the button does it. Even if I were to remember, that's just how I play games. I don't really hold the button to move a lot, I make a bunch of small adjustments and the dodging is so unbelievably annoying.

Second, there needs to be some kind of codex or something where all the item descriptions are. Most of the items are fairly eassy to understand what they do, but there are a lot that just kinda sit there and you hope you're using it to the full extent because you have no idea what it actualy does.

Third, and this is just a personal issue, but the melee range feels a bit short. It feels like I have to be pretty much touching the enemy to actually hit them. I could definitely get used to it over time, but it's just a little jarring after playing a lot of games where the melee range is a bit longer.

It's not a bad game by any means, but as of right now it has a good amount of things holding it back from being great. If you don't think these issues will be a problem for you, then by all means enjoy it. But until something changes about these, I don't see myself playing it much.

Edit: After less than a month, the Dev has responded to my review, asked about the issues, and made changes so that everything I felt was wrong flowed more smoothly and just felt better in general. Fantastic Dev, definitely recommend the game now.

While on the topic of Town of Salem, I'm gonna bring up the game Throne of Lies. At first glance it just looks like a copy of Town of Salem but it is so so so much better in my opinion. And I say that as someone with probably 30+ hours in ToS. First off, there's so many more roles in the game, but not enough so that it gets exhausting. It's like the perfect amount so that it keeps the game very fresh without being a slog to learn everything. Additionally, the game has a very streamlined built in class list that tells you every single thing about the class, so you don't need to worry about not knowing what class do.
So the way the game plays is as follows: The "Good" faction is the Blue Dragon, and they're in every game. Then it randomly chooses a "Bad" faction, either the Unseen or the Cult. The Unseen is like the traditional mafia, The Cult is a bit weirder. Every game has a Prince, a King, , 2 of either The Cult or The Unseen, 2-4 Neutral classes and 8-10 random Blue Dragon classes. The king can be Good, Evil, or Neutral which makes for very interesting games.
The game plays pretty much the exact same as ToS. A 90 second day for discussion and voting for treason followed by a 30-45 second night (can't remember which). However, this gameplay is where ToL is ahead of ToS by leagues. First off, there is not a single dull class in ToL. For example, in ToS, if you get Survivor or Retributionist, it's pretty boring because you can't really help your team win directly through what you do. Obviously with the survivor all you have to do is live, which is really boring. Nobody wants to do nothing except for survive. It's fun to learn secrets about people and be involved in the game, and the survivor actively stops you from that. Additionally, the Retributionist can be extremely valuable to the town, but the only thing they can do is revive someone. It can be one of the most valuable skills in the game, but the player doesn't feel like they did much. ToL gets rid of those issues entirely.
First off, every single class has at least 2 abilities, some have up to 4. The abilities are split into Day and Night abilities. Day abilities can obviously be used during the day and they have an immediate impact. For example, look at Political Pressure on The Aristocrat. It forces a player to vote another player up for treason and remove their ability to vote again. You can use this to completely screw over another player by making them look super suspicious. It's a very fun and unique ability. On the other hand, Night abilities are used during the night and almost always have their effects done at the end of the night. For example, look at the Psychic's Link Minds. At night she has the ability to link her mind with 2 other players, allowing the to talk privately during the night. This is an example of an ability that doesn't occur at the end of the night. This is another very cool and useful ability.
Every class is able to directly influence other players in the game and learn about them or kill them, which makes for much more fun games. Many of the abilities are so unique and cool that it adds much more flavor to the game than ToS. For example, look at the Illusionist, the Unseen version of the Psychic. She has an ability where she can delete the chat history of a player. That is such a fantastic idea for an ability like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! It has the potential to completely ruin a player's day it such a cool way. The game is sprinkled with awesome abilities like this.
The Unseen and the Cult are able to stay relevant throughout the entire game. Both of them have leaders which are able to convert Blue Dragon people to their faction, with each BD class having its own unique Unseen class. You could play the game for so long and still never experience all the classes because of how the conversions work. It takes such a specific set of circumstances to get any given Unseen class.
All in all the game is just a much better version of ToS, especially because the playerbase isn't divide between DLC and Non-DLC. If you love ToS, this game is definitely worth picking up.
