I'm just about the biggest fan you can find of Megaman X. This game is a phenomenally executed tribute that captures all of the elements that made the X series a thoroughly enjoyable playthrough. Certain trade-offs are apparent, but in my opinion are reasonable given the need to create something both familiar and innovative.

What I miss:
Bigger build up and boss rush at the end of a playthrough

The feeling of a story. Megaman has always been a little story-lite, but this is pretty thin.

What I love:
The roguelike elements give this game a wide skill gap that you can enter at any phase- memorization of maps won't save you.

Difficulty ramps up as you progress.

Customize your character as your progress through each playthrough.

Co-op!

Overall, the game delivers on an emphatically fun experience that does a good job of keeping from getting old. I've poured more than a dozen hours into this thing so far and have no interest in stopping anytime soon. It's more or less everything that Mighty Number Nine should've been.
