It is like Assassin's Creed took some tips from Arkham City, except better than that. A lot better. It is great, then it is repetative, and then it is great again. I can't wait for more.

This game is difficult, broken, sometimes frustrating, and one of the finest gaming experiences ever created. It is worth every ounce of effort it takes to set up properly and learn.

step 1. Fix the 'broken' part by installing DSfix and possibly a few little graphics mods for an improved UI to match your shiny new resolution allowed by DSFix.
step 2. Make sure you have a controller to play with. A 360 controller or similar PC controller is recommended to the point of being nearly required.
step 3. Die.. a lot. At first this is frustrating as the controls take some getting used to but it will quickly become fun once you accept that dying is part of the game and realize that the death penalty is very minor.
step 4. Be absolutely amazed at the thought and love the team put into this game. Stare at the crazy beautiful environments (and probably get eaten while doing so.) The more you play the more you will realize just how much thought was put into this experience. You will eventually be amazed at how much faith the team puts in your ability to figure things out on your own instead of treating you like a 5 year old the way almost every mainstream game does.
step 5. Spend 100+ hours beating it, uncovering the lore and story that isn't spoon fed to you, and then when you finally beat it.. wish it wasn't over.
step 6. Read some online web guide, realize that you missed a TON of stuff, and play through it again in game+, dying even more.
step 7. Figure out that since you probably got this on sale and played 100-200 hours of it you paid less than a nickle an hour for one of the best games ever made.
step 8. Play something else in a completely different genre, because if you try to play anything remotely like this game shortly after beating it you will regret it.
