Thank god I got this on a steep sale.
I have a few hundred hours in Civ 4 and 5, and I just do not understand this game. It's far more complicated than it needs to be - its less of a game, and more like a dozen or so mini- and meta-games rolled into one. Even on settler difficulty, on a large map with 4 AI players, getting to 200 turns took two days.

Edit As Of 1.0: It's abandonware. Devs announced a finished product without a single bit of update. Took the money and ran.

"I really want to get into this game, but it puts an 11/10 strain on my GPU with 4/10 graphics"

That was, like, five years ago, and is still true to this day, with a better rig.
Also, what everyone else is saying - the modern iterations of this game are just, so much worse. The game has INCREDIBLE potential, but its like he devs throw back a couple bottles of cheap vodka during their meetings and keep coming up with the worst directions to take the game, taking it from fun to confusing.

Thumbs down then, thumbs down now.

Getting the wrong answers has got to be, personally, the most rewarding thing.
Say, "so do you have any slutty friends I can also hook up with?"
And the next scene is a recap, with a bouncer holding a gun to your guys' head making him feed the bouncer grapes in shame

11/10, would make bad decisions again

Everyone explained it better than me.
I dearly love this game, but this expansion changed everything up so bad to the point that even on easy you're struggling to just get by.
They re-invented the wheel, and didn't need to.

I played this in beta but recently migrated to steam

Long story short, if you're not already good at it, you're going to suck at it. And if you suck at it, it's not fun.

Great for masochists. Not so much for new players.

It was six hours before I figured out how to get to the point where I could build my first car. Drove for ten minutes south in the hunt for some illusive materials. My tire got snagged on an invisible tree, and the car flipped over. Then I get attacked by something that resembled an ape, and died. The game then crashed shortly after respawning at my base.

13/10, would not bother restarting the game again.

I love this game so much

I love this game. It's fun, it's silly, and the soundtrack is great.

Really fun game with a very Mass-Effect-esque soundtrack and lots of enjoyment from quasi-micromanagement.

The controls sucks ass though. Navigate the menu, or send a ship to a planet? Left click? Righ click? It doesn't seem to stay the same.
