Bought Shogun 2 and Shogun 2 Fall of the samurai + all expansions. Installed and it keeps trying to install an outdated version of adobe flash player and fails install. When trying to launch shows first image of loading screen and then crashes. Tried to get help from Sega and no help at all. Tried searching online for adobe flash compatibility issues and can't find the answers. Time for a refund. I can play all other games in creation, but this one... Too bad I have been playing total war games since the very beginning with no problems at all. Sad times indeed... My one hour played is just seeing that first screen again and again.

At least I can still play all of the originals and Medieval II, but this is the end of my trusting this companies games anymore.

Even original Shogun had similar issues...This company carries the same or similar bugs over years and years.

Only one that always works = ROME

This game is unplayable. I streamed this @ www.twitch.tv/sirspoony and frapsed it for first impressions youtube.

I was unable to create a solo game.

I was unable to join any online games because they were all locked.

I was unable to play with friends and viewers because none of us could team up for games.

Games would just not launch.

This game is not even worth the $0.99 because it did not work for me or the many people trying it out in my stream as well. So guessing it's either broken or so unstable server-wise that it makes it unplayable.

On a side note. They trolled gamers everwhere and won. They actually fooled the many idiots into thinking this is a recommendable game? Sorry for your obvious loss of some humanity based on trickery.

Great idea, graphics and mechanics, but what sucks is how so one-sided the fights are. Regardless of how good you are or aren't The vampires grant a 9/10 winning ratio or 8/10 and the humans have about 3/10, from what me and my team of streamers have all found out in the same day and not even teamed together, but with separate groups and still got the same results. Out of 20 games and 8 streamers here were the results from total strangers in different groups average kills per game playing Vampires = 20, 30, 27, 29, 15, 35, 31, 30 and while playing humans average kills per game = 2, 4, 6, 2, 8, 10, 6, 7. results found by watching our saved recordings. You can see that anyone first time playing has the same results. If the humans don't camp the whole time as a group in one area then they can't possibly win. If humans start to wander off...you're dead All vampires have a one hit kills, with easy to grab combos and the humans sometimes have a one hit kill but only from the proper secondary skill and only if it crits and is one of the smaller vampires.

All-in-all a fun game if you are vampires or you experience one of the most unbalanced games ever as humans.

Vampires = Super Easy Mode = no skill really required to have fun

Humans = Hard mode = team tactics and staying togather or you all will get slaughtered = all skill and teaming which means it's nearly impossible to pug and not so much fun even when teaming together.

So for now and speaking for all the testers that helped out and myself; which do not suggested playing at this time.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Game is only limited to your own imagination! I really wish they had more usable building items to make things way more efficient and easy to fully understand, but after many play hours with some You Tubing and asking around you can pretty much figure out most everything pretty quickly....Like GRAVITY WARP DRIVES, self-made Rail Guns, Gravity Generated storage, HOMING MISSLES! and many many more things to discover like the gravitational SHIP LAUNCHER! ...haha that is right you can slingshot even large ships into asteroids or other ships as ammo! hehe

Only downfalls are the game lags like a Beast and has graphical challenges regarless of your system and connection; which can cause a lot of frustration, especially as a streamer trying to stream it = so it's not too streamer friendly, but in time I am sure this could be handled with the game's very frequent updates! I got a dedicated server so that helps a ton, but even in there still lags a bit at times. The other downfall is that the more you build the bigger your game file gets for that game, which can also cause mild lag/interference in addition to the already existing occassional lag due to amount of players or some other kind of mild problems = attack from the double-whammy lag monster! SO COMPRESS YOUR FILE SIZES = this helps a little, but not the immediate solution at all...

All in all I would "Recommend" this game, but regardless of my excellent computer and awesome internet speeds I lag. So prepare yourself for this, but even though they lack a ton of possible materials to help you build, you can still build almost anything limited to your own imgaination just might not be smooth around the edges and/or work right away unless you tweek a million things. END NOTE = endless fun, but at the cost of a bit of lag!

~UPDATE~ 9/11/15

The game is more stable than it was in the past, but having large ship battles and more than a couple people still can cause mild Lag/Interference all the time, but ITS GETTING BETTER!

Instead of having to build the various DRIVES, you can now Workshop all types and the base game has a Jump Drive.

Base game = HANGAR Doors!!!

I found that the free dedicated server that SE gives you for free can't handle everything like the monthly fee Dedicated servers can. So obvious, but so true! So if you have $8.99/month to $12.99/month to spend I would do it so you can play with a dozen other people and have an intergallatic battle without many limitations :)

The base game keeps getting more and more new items and abilities = Voxel planets, Oxygen gear and Jump Drives and many many more ideas grabbed from the Workshop created items. The WORKSHOP, although creates longer loading times and can cause interference for most systems, is simply amazing with some of the stuff the community creates!

MODS I can't live without and found to be 100% safe to use:
"Props to all the Authors of these MODs"

Tier Thrusters
460-8000 speed mods
Armored Ramps
Blast Door Components
Azimuth's Collection
Small Ship Mega Mod Pack
"Any and all Cockpits"

...Even if you do not like MODs there is greater opportunity for you in this game!

~UPDATE 11/21/15

Game has OXYGEN, STABILITY (More Than Ever!) and FREAKING PLANETS!!! Has to be in my top 5 greatest gaming moments of all time. Waiting for some hotfixes before I dive into the no-life religious gaming again, but anticipating it ...w00t!

MODs I can't live without DX11 and 100% safe
"Props again to all the Authors of these MODs"

Tier armored thrusters - Works in space and Atmosphere!!!
Midspace's Unlimited Speed MOD - How things should be!
Armor Ramps - nice controur designs
Blast Door Components - nice designs
Azimuth's Mega Mod Collection - Always Awesome!
All guns at once - Should be part of the game
Small ship Mega Mod Pack - Always awesome!
S-Modular Thrusters - Nice all around atmosphere and space (Almost cheat mode though.... but nice to have another thruster that suits both like tiered does well enough) Won't allow in faction wars but creative fun yeah why not!!!

NOTE TO DEVS: FIX THE DAMN NET CODE ...thanks!

Conclusion:

Game keeps getting better and better, but sadly the DEVs need to concentrate on what is most important instead of all of the trivial this & thats. Anti-crashes are nice, but fixing the DAMN NET CODE would avoid many instances of the same exact thing = FIX IT!

One a side note... My love for the game has never been stronger, but found disappointed quite often with their hotfix choices. Obviously the PLANETS patch was amazing, but just think if the DEVs tweaked the damn net code and then readjusted it for planets = only way it could've been even more amazing. I am just tired of never being able to play with 20v20 or even 10v10 faction wars with stability for all instead of just a couple or maybe just maybe a few, but never the majority (even on dedicated 10,000 GBS servers).

Still recommend, but come on DEVS :\

~UPDATE 10/17/17

Yikes the DEVs really don't seem to know what they are doing. Between the poor execution of what to add and update, makes me feel like the DEVs just don't care and are very lazy people. The dream of a full fleet vs fleet may never be a thing. Fun smaller battles possible with the best gaming rigs possible, but otherwise sim problems for most, friends quitting, and Empyrion and Kerbal Space Program growing more and more due to Keen's very poor decision making. Workshop only thing keeping them alive now!

~UPDATE 6/20/20

Starting to try new games. Empyrion - Galactic Survival and Avorion have better A.I. control of your fleets, better vanilla builders and are very stable without much effort at all. Makes you wonder why Keen just can't figure out the same. SE is the most stable it has ever been and yet still fall way short of Empyrion, Avorion and Kerbal Space Program. I mean its insane at this point that they are so bad at their jobs with stability!

~UPDATE 12/15/21

Well what can I say, the game is way more stable thee days, but at what cost? The DEVs still fail to get that perfect stability the more things are going on in game. It got better over the years, but games like Kerbal Space Program (which is the childrens-version of this) is far surpassing the technology of SE, I can see why KSP not only caught up to SE in reviews/players and will surpass SE in the near future way beyond the limits of Keen DEVs. KSP has had a A.I. ship control system for your creations for years now and Keen still relies on true-creators from the workshop-scripts for such a thing. Without the Workshop SE would have maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of its player base, I mean let us be honest here...

Even though KSP seems to originally be made for a 12 year old, I might actually jump the fence and try it out after all these years of sticking to an SE dedication that is going no where.

Still a great game with friends and/or the right server, but my rating gets lower and lower for this game for me as time goes by. Keen's team is just so unskilled compared to DEVs od other games similar.

If it wasn't for LSG, TheXPGamers, W4stedspace and other content creators I truly believe this game would all but die...

~UPDATE 7/4/2023

Well this is goodbye. The game can't be trusted to work by keeping your settings and the creators force you into experimental mode when you did nothing to turn this feature on so they also do not have to support their game.

I was in a creative game just a few minutes ago and for some reason the game let me know I was at building limits? I checked settings and everything looked fine. I then hit cancel because I changed nothing. Tried "Continue Save" - Need to enable experimental mode popped up... Really? Once tagged experimental you no longer have support for the game! Even if a setting was changed, why do they allow settings to go past a hidden limit? Answer I believe is because their game isn't as stable as one would think. Still not stable...
