Bought Shogun 2 and Shogun 2 Fall of the samurai + all expansions. Installed and it keeps trying to install an outdated version of adobe flash player and fails install. When trying to launch shows first image of loading screen and then crashes. Tried to get help from Sega and no help at all. Tried searching online for adobe flash compatibility issues and can't find the answers. Time for a refund. I can play all other games in creation, but this one... Too bad I have been playing total war games since the very beginning with no problems at all. Sad times indeed... My one hour played is just seeing that first screen again and again.


At least I can still play all of the originals and Medieval II, but this is the end of my trusting this companies games anymore.

Even original Shogun had similar issues...This company carries the same or similar bugs over years and years.

Only one that always works = ROME

Never had any problem with installing the game, it worked for me on all my windows versions. With the newest adobe installed...

What sucks is me and 6 other streamers were making this a returning to TOTAL WAR EVENT and not one of us could get it to work that night in front of a combined 3,000 viewers... Poor choice on their end to not even work with us at all. Not commenting after this because nothing helps that was mentioned by you, the company or the seller. Thanks anyways = Total War Boycott in effect...sucks after so many dedicated years

Already did all of that and more. I did everything SEGA stated and STEAM. I will just stay away from SEGA and probably steam eventually due to refusing a refund. They sell a broken product and it does not work for 9 of 10 friends I know of that bought it as well. Thanks for trying to help, but all stated was already done and in the proper order. I play STAR CITIZEN flawless, still play original diablo flawless and many other games. I can play new and old just not this.

Your problem may even be as simple to fix as verifying the integrity of your game's files. To check that, you need to:

1.Go to your Library
2.Right-click Total War: Shogun 2
3.Click properties
4.Click on the local files tab
5.Click on the Verify integrity of game cache button

If that doesn't work, or isn't your problem that you are having, then check where I got my info and see if you can find a fix to your problem!

Hi there! Is your game actually launching? Or are you getting stuck on steam's message saying "Preparing to launch"? If that is the case, then you may want to try installing the redistributables manually. To do that you can find the files you need in the following directory- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\redist

You should then install the files in the following order:
---vcredist_x86_90.exe
---vcredist_x86.exe
---vcredist_x86-sp1.exe

Once you have installed the above, try to launch the game and see if you can play it! (Keep in mind that the loading screen will take a bit of time the first time that you launch it, since the game has to compile shaders and the like.)
