First off, there is enjoyment to be had in this game. And I could see people liking this game more than I did, but it just falls flat for me. I have 2.5 hours in this game at the current time and I have requested a refund as I’m not sure the level of fun I’m at is going to increase or just be drained the longer I play.

Riding around on your bike and delivering packages is a lot of fun, but while it seems they have nailed the core concept every extra degree seems to break. The general gameplay is to go to a business, pick up a job (can start here after you do the initial business mission), and deliver a package. This is pretty much the basic mission and eventually you can start doing missions for businesses with fragile packages, missions where you deliver multiple packages, missions that require you to go back and forth between customers and businesses, missions that require you to maintain speed, missions that require you to do a few tricks (but not too many), and a mission that requires you to put posters on walls. And all these missions by themselves are fun if not maybe a little too easy, like I spent some time grinding rep and it felt very brainless to get from point a to point b delivering one package. But besides just fun and an excuse to traverse the map, why are you doing these missions?

Money is the biggest motivator in this game (there is a second one but we will get there). And money is seemingly spent on cosmetics like I expected, though I’m sad I don’t think you can customize your character at all. I really thought the cosmetics I would be working for would maybe be hats, clothes, and maybe different models, but it's all spent on your bike. Well I didn’t get far enough to see all the bike upgrades and cosmetics, but the ones I had access to already weren't enough of a carrot to dangle in front of me. Not to mention the fact that when you go to the bike customization menu you cannot buy cosmetics where you can see how they would look on your bike, instead you have to engage with the phone menu that takes a bit of practice to do while riding your bike (though I do think that makes sense). And that small separation between where to buy and equip made me immediately disregard my want to personalize my vehicle. I will also state I didn’t feel I had an incentive to particularly do any job well as I don’t think doing a job faster or maybe with more tricks got me any more money or loyalty. There was no S ranking a job or anything so it only really behooves you to just get the job done and collect the measly cash prize. But there is a second reason to do the impromptu jobs besides money.

Besides impromptu jobs there is a second mode called delivery rush, which is probably what you expect. It's a mode where you have about a minute and can take 3 jobs at a time from anywhere. It can be a lot of fun the first few times around a map, frantically trying to find jumps and wall rides to get around obstacles quickly before the time limit. And doing impromptu jobs before and after these rushes allow you to get more extra time from businesses you have high loyalty with which can help you keep going for a while. But my problem with this mode is as far as I can tell it throws out all the interesting job types. Instead of having to deliver one package that requires you to maintain speed while another requires you to go back and forth between the pizza place and customers, it's always just “get package, go to customer, make it before time”. Which means you have now been grinding to get stuck doing the most basic mission a ton of time in a min (plus extra time you now get to keep getting). And besides that being a kinda fun incentive to see how many jobs you can do, the only real reward is some loyalty with businesses, and money.

What I want for rewards is not money but cosmetics. Like what if each level of loyalty with a business (you know the places that have recognizable theming and mascots) gave you merch? Like lvl 1 loyalty gives the badge that lvl 3 gives, lvl 2 could give you buddy that could replace your bell on you handle bars, and 3 could give you a livery or something (also if the game does have this farther in then I’m sorry but I maxed 4 business and never saw anything like this). This is also assuming that we can’t in the future get items you can put on your character because I know people would love to ride around looking like the goofy mascots that represent each business. Like the world this game takes place in is hilarious and fun to see and be a part of, so let me be a part of it.

All in all the game manages to accurately simulate a worker who is forced to do a menial task for little pay who is determined to do it the best, but manages to fall short at trying to get me to clock back in for one more ride.
