if Crypt of the Necrodancer and Doom had a baby, it'd be this.

fun looter shooter, but if you're playing it for the plot, don't bother.

If Darkest Dungeon and XCom 2 had a baby, it'd be Warhammer Mechanicus.

[ ] PLEASE AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE

This game is extremely short, and I believe I overgrinded (due to Xcom2 trauma and experience) that I only needed one tech-priest and one damage boost to kill the final boss in a single turn with the awakening counter at 97%.

The pros:
- hitrates 404 not found???? everything hits. and by everything, i mean everything.
- really cool customisation features and aesthetics
- interesting skill tree

The cons:
- remember when i said about hitrates not existing? well, turns out some enemies can snipe you through walls and from ridiculous distances (yeah deathmark i'm talking about you, you piece of piping hot poop)
- enemy designs are really boring
- your choices don't matter and it gets really annoying after awhile
- equipment management is really disorganised
- unsure about why missions are segregated, feels really pointless when all the areas look the same

The bosses are pretty underwhelming to say the least. All in all it's an enjoyable game. Not sure if it's worth the price tag, unless you're a super fan then by all means.

Finished the vanilla version a couple of times, WOTC is the only DLC I own and have recently finished.
Not a Spoiler Free review.

Pros
  • New gameplay mechanics
  • New classes
  • New mini bosses (aka the Chosen)
  • Faction cards are useful
  • Resistant Ring and Covert Actions

Cons:
  • Bugs that forces you to reload a save
  • New Classes makes Psi Ops kind of pointless
  • Soldier's get tired too quickly
  • Central gets even more annoying
  • it's 3 feet in front of you with a 96% hit chance AND YOU MISSED

Some lengthy review. I love the new classes, Reapers especially. They make great scouts and good finishers. The Templars and Skirmishers both have their uses too. And with the Chosen having specific weaknesses to each of these classes, you need to decide which to bring on a mission and they can be great game changers. The first month was absolutely tedious to deal with. I've never had so much stress trying to manage three Chosen at once AND the Avatar project's progress. If you are able to survive the first month of onslaught, the following months become easier.

I've only played on the normal difficulty so i can't vouch for the balancing issues in the game. I haven't had any problems dealing with the Chosen whenever they show up. The Lost missions can be a pain in the ass because it's super tedious to deal with waves and waves of zombies.

I'm enjoying the variety of maps and the changes in retaliation site quests the DLC has to offer. The only problem I have is once you clean up the Chosen and try to focus on tackling the Avatar Project, a bunch of side quests and other 'important' missions start showing up left and right. It makes it really tiring just trying to rush for end game. Another thing to note is that your Soldier's will play an important part in how fast they get tired/shaken. And once they get tired, they have to be benched for a couple of days.

Once you finish slaughtering the Chosen and carve their skin from their corpses, that's pretty much it for the DLC. So I'm not sure if the price tag was worth it.
