I know I have 7 hours on here, but that's only because I just recently switched from PS4. My actual time played is somewhere around 830 hours. Dark Souls 3 is an essential game for fans of the first 3 Souls games, as well as Bloodborne. While the game is much more straightforward in terms of progression, level design, and upgrades, the story is just as good as it has always been, and the combat is more fluid and refined than ever before. It blends the fast paced intensity of Bloodborne with the methodical bait-and-punish of Dark Souls 1. However, spellcasting has been fundamentally changed, for better or worse. Rather than attuning individual spells to cast like in previous games, Dark Souls 3 has a mana system, known as Focus Points. Additionally, with the more straightforward world design, Dark Souls 3 will likely be much easier than previous games for both greenhorns and veterans. This is made up for, however, with the excellent boss design, which is by far the highlight of the whole game. Nearly every fight will have you on the edge of your seat and the brink of death. One downside of this game is the simplification of the Covenant system, with covenants now being an item to equip, which affects nothing but multiplayer matchmaking. And finally, my personal favorite part of the game, the soundtrack is more fleshed out than in past games, with every boss having unique music. In short, if you want an intense, fast paced action RPG, Dark Souls 3 is a great choice.
Pros:
+Soundtrack
+Combat
+Boss Design
+Revamped Multiplayer
Cons
-Simplified Covenants
-Linear Level Design
-Story Very Similar To Dark Souls 1
-Magic Reworked
