I'm really excited for the finished product. The demo is worth a run through for a few scares and a really creative world and environment. Tons of little easter eggs too. Definitely buying when it comes out.

Depending on how the rest of the game finishes, I could see this winning an award for best new developer, indie horror, or some other award... it's that awesome.

I've already put 25+ plus hours into this game, and this is my take.

It's supposed to have a Halo 3/4 feel with Portal mechanics. It makes for an extremely fast paced game that tests your accuracy, reflexes, and creativity. There are a few maps that clearly resemble Halo's "Midship" and "Guardian" along with similar gametypes of oddball, TDM, CTF, King of the Hill, and CoD's Domination. It's absolutely a new feel to a nostalgic game.

Gun mechanics are interesting so far. I'm sure they will be tweaked as the game grows, but I enjoy it so far. For instance, I like how the pistol can three shot people with two body shots and one to the head, in no particular order. I don't know how I feel about it having damage drop off though, which I confirmed today with a buddy in a custom. The AR (automatic weapon) seems to work great for those with great tracking skills, but gets outclassed by an accurate pistol player (this is good). The BR is also a three round burst accurate weapon like in Halo. It seems like pulling down can control the spread a bit at range. Sometimes you can two tap opponents, but other times it feels like you are shooting fruity pebbles. I'd like to look into how this gun works a little more. Sniper shoots a bit faster than Halo's, and the Sniper to the chest and one body shot with a pistol is a kill. A devastating combo. I do wish you need a pistol headshot for the one to punch, however. The shotgun has absolutely no range, but can be devastating with good portals. FIX THE PLASMA RIFLE. Pretty sure it doesn't do damage.

Portal play is incredible. I'm going to be hated for relating it to this, but here we go: I fell in love with Fortnite for its unique battles. Build fighting and editing in a close quarters situation allows for incredibly unique plays. It's incredibly satisfying winning those battles. The portal plays give me that same satisfaction. Portalling behind an enemy that is W keying you, portalling into a room of 4 capping a point, and killing one before even entering. Holding multiple positions at once. Flying through the air across the map and sniper no-scoping someone. It's all so satisfying and unique. However, running through portals can feel pretty clunky at times, especially ones on the ground and ones placed just a little too high off the ground. You get used to it after a while, but I think there can be improvements.

The sounds are pretty bad. I'd like them to look into louder notifications that someone is jetpacking near you, landing a portal near you, and definitely entering a portal near you. So many times I'm baffled that someone is in the same room as me. Also audio notification of how much damage you've taken, and melee sounds and notification should be toyed with as well.

Overall, the game isn't perfect yet, but it's an incredible game that COULD have a bright future, and I absolutely recommend adding it to your game rotation.
