I can personally recommend this game now that the economy is much more forgiving to new players. The "join any team" bonuses are great and are actually a good incentive to play a "random" faction.

(I have over 1000 hours in game time if it matters. The hours just didn't get transferred to Steam.)

Only bought the game because I thought the main character was cute. I was very impressed by the story and gameplay.

I feel like a kid again.

It's worth it for the music alone.




The game is still a bit rough around the edges but I'm sure the devs will shape a gem out of it! They have made tremendous progress in development in just a couple weeks. The class system is a lot deeper than in Synthetik 1 (specialisations) and there will be a lot more things to unlock in the future. You shouldn't buy Synthetik 2 (at the moment) expecting a fully polished game since it's in very early access right now. The core gameplay is satisfying as it was in S1. You've got the clinky headshots and great weapon sound design. That being said, this game is not just a 3D S1. It's something different and might not be for everyone.

Should you buy it?
It depends a lot. As I've said earlier, the game hasn't been finished yet. The devs actively listen to feedback and are willing to make changes based on it. If bugs and WIP features don't annoy you too much and you want to support FFG then absolutely go for it. It's not that expensive and I've had fun with it so far.

I'm so glad I heard Celeste music in a YouTube video a while back. I instantly got curious about the game after hearing the soundtrack and looked it up. The game looked interesting enough so I waited for a sale, but the main reason I bought it was the music. The game itself definitely didn't disappoint. I almost feel bad for only paying 5€.

A co-op mining & horde shooter game. The classes are very well thought out and all of them are an important part of your team. Toxicity is nearly non-existent in the DRG community. I can count every toxic player I've seen with one hand. Base gameplay (killing bugs & mining minerals) is satisfying. Definitely worth your money even when it's not on sale.
