There's just something about this game that no other game can really capture.

I always try to look for any zombie / survival games out there and have probably tried most of them already. The majority of them fail to reach my expectations.

When you first start this game you will die, a lot. Almost all the mechanics will be confusing and the average player will probably get frustrated but if you manage to get past that? and when you manage to survive the initial week and be able to hold your own in a fight while also managing to survive once the water and power go out? It becomes an addiction.

I've spent countless hours just playing solo on a server I host for my friends because it's just that fun where you don't NEED people to enjoy it. The BEST part about this game is that it's ACTUALLY a sandbox and you can customize each and every detail to your hearts desire. I personally play on a setting where the initial population of zombies is Very high but they don't respawn. With very rare weapon/gun and ammo spawns, it becomes super difficult (but satisfying) to find anything good enough to make a dent in the giant hordes. Once I get settled I can slowly but surely clear out the hordes one by one, easily getting above 1k kills in the 2nd week alone. If its still too easy you can even download mods that let you customize the percentages of zombies that'll be sprinters so you'll get that heart stopping moment where you'll be enjoying a horde spree and suddenly a sprinter runs up to your back and grabs you but you barely manage to get away with a lucky scratch.

I've lost characters that I spent weeks on. There's no save system to load back a save once you die, once it's over it's over.

My only quip with this game is that it's not very optimized, on my 1060 with 32 GB RAM and having the game installed on a fast SSD, the loading times (with mods) are pretty damn long, and the fps gets tanked unless you download some fps improving mods which slightly improves the issue. Other than that it's a blast.

Buy this game, you won't regret it.

I used to love the crew, even though i used to play horizon as well. On console i believe it works fine but when I finally got some money to buy a game I played the CLOSED BETA AND OPEN BETA for the first time in years, i was so excited to finally get back in and play it all the way through since i could never buy it back then. I spent, a whole 2 hours probably, trying to start it up, the only way i could get it to launch was going into the files and launching it with admin (steam and uplay had admin rights) but it only launched when my controller was plugged in?? whenever it was unplugged it wouldn't launch, and when it DID launch it would get stuck on the loading screen and crash. I went through countless websites to try and find a fix and found several people with the same issues. This is the first EVER game i've refunded in 8 years of steam, just buy horizon and save yourself the trouble.
