The gameplay and aesthetic are fantastic. As a big fan of Slay the Spire and a LOT of other roguelike deckbuilders, I recommend this one highly.

An excellent example of the escape-room box-opening genre. It was exactly what I wanted it to be.

I love what the game does with rare orbs and relics that change up the rules of the game - it accomplishes the things I love about deckbuilders!

I'm still early in the game, but really enjoying the sequence of unlocks and the exploration gameplay.

This is an highly polished version of a classic 4X variation.

I love the short gameplay loop of each level and the minimalism of the units and stats. Gameplay feels incredibly satisfying.

The procedural story is wonderful, the tactical game is a ton of fun, and the aesthetic is consistent and well-handled. I am delighted with this game.

This game remains a top-tier example of storytelling in a JRPG form. It has aged very gracefully.

This is some of the highest-quality writing ever put into a video game. The dialogue, setting, and narrative are simply phenomenal. I can't say enough good about it. The Enhanced Edition fixes the weaknesses in the UI of the original 1999 version of the game.

I absolutely loved this game, even though I have my issues with it and feel like it fell short of its promise in a number of areas. Even with that, it's some of the best writing I've seen in a video game since Planescape: Torment, and I don't say that lightly. With only a few exceptions, the writing quality, story pacing, characterization, and gradual widening of scope were as satisfying as a very well-run tabletop game, which is high praise indeed. I recommend this to anyone interested in tactical story-rich RPGs; just go in with your eyes open, because the content is incredibly bleak.
