Hideous game, absolutely awful, inventory system is impossible to grasp, 10h of playtime and I still struggle to press the right sequence of buttons to do what I wanna do, shooting is super unprecise and clunky, movement is disgusting, graphic hurts my eyes, characters say the most random stupid heroic cringey stuff, and goodness gracious chapters are so unnecessarily LONG, useless cut scenes every 50 meters, boss fights that between phases and cut scenes last for HOURS, I hate this game with a passion, do yourself a favour and watch a youtube video about the plot and skip it full. 1/10

This game is BORING. Like, boring boring. Had to stream it to a friend to keep myself motivated to play it and I was still bored outta my mind (so was my friend), average playtime for play session is 20 minutes.
I thought that the words and messages that spawn as you progress followed a story, a meaning, and that alone looked interesting to me; the more I played, the more I realised that it was just a lowly attempt of keeping the player hooked with mysterious, cryptic elements, nice try, but no.
Story is boring. Characters are less boring than anything else, but boring. Gameplay is PAINFULLY BORING. Don't. Just do not.

I've been playing RPGMaker adventure-horror games for the past decade, didn't think that such a good game still had to be discovered; it's unfortunately not well known and doesn't appear in many lists around the internet, I found it by dumb luck and I couldn't be more glad that I did.
For such a cheap price (even cheaper under 70% discount) you comfortably have 5h worth of playtime and I enjoyed every single one of those hours, the game is easy going and got surprisingly nice side characters, a decent well-rounded story and simple but appreciable puzzles every now and then.
It's way better than many renowned titles falling under the same genre. 9/10

When I saw "extremely toxic sibling relationship" in the game description I thought it couldn't affect me because what can a couple of random emo-like brother sister can even do to me and my most sane head. Well now I'm affected AND in complete emotional distress thank you very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much, I absolutely loved it and I don't like it. AT ALL. 9.99/10

The game is pretty chill and grindy just how I like it, there's a decent variety of classes and difficulties and the gameplay is straightforward enough to keep you from losing your way through.
I don't know if it's a game meant to be "long lasting" because it feels like you won't have much to do anymore when you've completed all the dungeons/rooms, but oh well, I'll take it until it lasts. 7/10

As a newcomer into the world of DnD and CRPGs in general, getting into the game was absolutely overwhelming and left me spending a consistent amount of hours trying to understand the gimmicks of the combat system, which is not that much beginner friendly and it's based on lots of knowledge I do not own.
But the thing is, you do learn at some point even as a complete newbie, I did learn, I did advance, I did start understanding why people consider this a little gem, and I sill am enjoying it, now the "advantage/disadvantage" system gets to me only 50% of the time and I know my way around rolls (mostly).
We do learn, just play. Don't be scared of the monstrous amount of things you have to do, see, and learn, you will, it's worth it 100%, it's too beautiful of a game to pass on.
Glad I gave this a shot. 9/10

Characters are either extremely annoying or extremely lame, just like real life

Berseria reconfirms itself as the best game of the chain, hands down.
Arise feels a LOT less clunky but it has to be expected being the most recent game, combat mechanics are great, the backgrounds and the shaders are nothing less than amazing but the story got to be super heavy at some point. I used to read every conversation, every skit, but the end of it would never come I swear down, it was just so LONG just to be long, I was already pretty bored by the time I reached the ending.
It's a lot easier to achieve platinum than all the previous game and that's a +1, took me about 50h. 7.5/10

Don't buy this game if you plan of comparing it to Umineko and Higurashi, because it won't stand a chance and you'll be feeling lowkey disappointed. This is without a doubt Ryukishi07's work and it's enough of a reason to buy it, but... keep your hopes in check to avoid disappointment.
Just do it for Ryukishi07.
