If you enjoyed Subnautica, you'll enjoy Below Zero. The addition of glacier biomes and more temperature management was good for the experience, and I only died a few times earlier on when I was gathering my bearings. The rest of the journey was a treasure!

The music and audio is still stellar and atmospheric as hell. There's no huge submarine like in the last game, but you can get super modular with your seatruck, which I had a great time playing around with. There's a new land vehicle, but I didn't care much for it. The Prawn suit is more than suitable for land travel. B)

The horror moments are spread out just evenly enough that I only felt safe in my base once I'd set it up. And even then, you'll need to make expeditions out to get more supplies from way across the map. Great time!

I enjoyed Nier: Automata, but never had the opportunity to play Nier: Gestalt. I heard that content was added and combat was changed to resemble Automata, and I can comfortably say that 5 endings later, I'm still on board with Yoko Taro's wacky drama shenanigans.

The music is lovely, the emotional beats are good, combat is fun, and I don't feel like it's just stockholm syndrome after having replayed the game several times for the "full experience." It's not hard to speed through the 2nd+ playthroughs, and there's enough extra scenes and dialogue to make me feel something different (usually sad, lol).

Gardening's a cute minigame that I wish was made easier to do, and that wouldn't rely on time as much as it does. I don't see Nier as a gardening game, and the amount of guides suggesting I manipulate my PC's clock to speed through it makes me disappointed.

Also, the RNG grind is really bad. I tried to go and forge every weapon to its final stage, but I became extremely tired with farming specific enemies for rare parts that I need more of. Gathering spots are capricious and change place frequently, so I spent a lot of time intentionally drowning/dying in order to refresh the gathering point spawns without having to run ALL the way in and out of The Aerie over and over again.

Great RPG, shows some age in some of its design decisions, but if you liked Automata, you'll prolly also like this.

I got this game for free on Twitch however many years ago, and after seeing a MandaloreGaming review of it, I finally gave it a shot.

I am SMACKING myself for sleeping on this. If you're into unfolding games, story-heavy stuff, and/or horror, this is a really cool take on Lovecraftian horror that isn't just using Cthulu and fish-people. Without spoiling how the game unfolds, you'll drag cards into these action circles that let you do stuff. A short timer is set, and once the timer hits 0, you get story text + more cards. You set the cards out as you see fit, and the table quickly evolves as you figure out how to survive in a cold, dark reality.

Currently, I've put in around 10 hours to the game. I'm not sure how much more content there is just in the base game, and I have a good feeling I'll purchase the expansions + gift a friend this for Christmas, if to make up for the fact that I still have this (for free) on Twitch. I never use Twitch anymore, so hey :y

Oh, and the music/sfx are excellent. Extremely quality atmosphere.

Ever wanted Fallout: New Vegas as a goofy turn-based RPG? Because this merits the comparison in terms of writing. The devs really know how to make an approachable yet mature yet still fun game.

It's a simple, silly mafia-like. With 8+ players, it's chaotic in a DELIGHTFUL way.

I sincerely appreciate that this game doesn't have any achievements to think about.

Some of the minigames may frustrate (especially the card swipe + rushing to O2 before everyone suffocates).

It's worth the $5 USD imo bc the free Android version slips ads between the end-of-game results and the "Play Again" button.

My first 4X game was Civilization III Complete, which was a delight for teenage me. Civ 4 was alright, definitely a graphical upgrade. Civ 5 had halfway-decent multiplayer and hella DLC I got for cheap on some Humble Bundle 5 years ago or something. I played some 4X board games, but felt kinda burnt out at that point.

Someone reminded me that this game exists, bought it for me, and suddenly I've swooced right into the meat of it and am naming every city, county, and duchy stupid stuff like "Shep's Party Palace" and "Buttfart Hills." The default game rules allows you to jump between countries/leaders in order to play out their side of all the holy wars and lack of city planning/development in those eariler years.

Achievements are a little buggy (also not turned on by default- check the game rules button for Iron Man Mode), but other than that I am suddenly 72 hours of play time and I see why ya'll like this game. Very pleased with it, and I know I'm IN for it whenever I decide I'm done with vanilla content. The modding potential for this is ridiculous and I love it.

A goofy walking sim with lots of unique dialogue and wacky situations. Very worth your time, but the achievements list is mostly a joke, you WILL hate trying to run this game through the entirety of a Tuesday.

Still haven't beaten the game yet, but the fact that I'm still having fun at 21 hours is telling, for me. I got my money's worth. Just gotta beat it at least once...

Okay so I had to use cheats to get to the bottom of things, but even after all that, there's HELLA secrets thrown in there. You might wanna wait before looking up maps for it, but holy smokes, those crazy devs are crazy. Get the game.

A surreal adventure I had a great time in, when I wasn't checking an FAQ for what the heck to do next. Play if you like weird adventure games.

Somehow, the Higurashi story gets even more intense. Small differences in the timeline create massive ripples, and things go horrendously wrong in such spectacular ways. Major trigger warnings abound, of course. But GOD I can't wait for the next arc to start. I desperately want answers to all these ridiculous questions and scenarios that have been presented. I'm reviewing the Onikakushi and Watanagashi plotlines, and the reveal of what Oyashiro-sama is eating away at me.
