Ichiban Kasuga: the greatest character in all of fiction

Incredibly written with gorgeous art. Absolutely deserving of the price tag and your time. I never thought that a Spy Fox cameo could make me feel sad

Made me laugh out loud with delight multiple times, which is pretty much the highest praise I can give a puzzle game

A perfect entry into a chronically underserved genre. It's a bit rough around the edges, but it's obvious that the devs put the highest effort into the most important aspects of the game - primarily the movement and level design. I would play like 50 of these!

4 hours of pure puzzle-solving bliss. Lots of people are comparing this to Obra Dinn, which makes sense. The mechanics are quite similar. And for the record Obra Dinn is probably one of my favorite games of all time. However, I feel like this game found a few ways to improve on Obra Dinn's formula:

- Golden Idol's story is more engaging and surprising

- Gold Idol's puzzles and revelations feel more distinct and less repetitive (I love Obra Dinn, but half the game is just "what random sailor died in what uneventful way during which massacre?" and all that stuff kinda blurs together)

- Gold Idol sports a more dynamic and colorful vibe which, in my opinion, felt more endearing than Obra Dinn's icy-cold, nautical seriousness

Overall, this game rules. Buy it and pay close attention to everything.

<b>The rest of the time:</b> Feel like an idiot as you are forced to look up Polygon articles to decipher this game's incredibly smart puzzles

- Make as much mayonnaise as possible
- Duck mayonnaise
- Suck juice out of nasty dirt wads that my pig dug up using special pig powers
- Take my horse (named Obama) to the old town road
- Hang out with homeless man in a chicken suit who is my best friend
- Catch a fish, he gives me an emerald. Thanks fish.
- Buy beer for both of the town's raging alcoholics
- Give bread I found in a trash can to the bartender lady
- Go home, make more mayonnaise
- My wife heard about the trash can bread and thinks I'm cheating on her
- Duck mayonnaise sells for more than emerald
