Definitely a fun game that would suit a variety of players.

You can have casual fun for a while, but where you're gonna put in 100s of hours is when you start playing competitively. The roster and playstyles are diverse and challenging enough to keep you motivated.

However, once you start getting close as a high tier player, things start becoming monotonous. You've got just about every character and weapon combo down, but now playing casually is frustrating because winning either becomes a routine or a frustrating hassle as the game is filled with more casuals that use an annoying play style. The competitive scene is frustrating as well because of toxic players or simply not enough enticement to continue in ranked. Unless you start going to tournaments, a completionist/perfectionist, or someone with a god complex that likes to curb stomp on noobs, there is no reason to attempt reaching diamond. Gold is about where most casual, somewhat competitive players end up and it is a frustrating middle ground in casual 2v2 lobbies: you either get paired up with complete noobs and lose or get matched against a team of hardcore competitive players and get dominated.
