I want to make one thing perfectly clear. I like Half-Life 2 and it's episodic content. Heck I love it. But that's not why I am not recommending this game. The reason I'm not recommending this game is the shady practice of promising a continuation for series and failing to deliver on that promise. It's been close to 9 years since the release of HL2 Ep2 where Gabe Newell stated that we'd get a resolution to the story arc the following 1 to 2 years. It's been way longer than that, and we haven't heard a peep of anything that resembles HL2 Ep3 or rather HL3.

At this point, I don't give a crap whether or not HL3 would be good. I just want to know how the story ends. But what we're left with is a cliff hanger, and no conclusion in sight.

I really want to enjoy the HL series again, but I can't. Not while Valve is thumbing their nose at the people who helped them get where they are.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy anything in the HL franchise unless you want to feel cheated out of an ending!
