C'est tout mignon, mais y'a pas de jeu.
Mais c'est tout mignon quand même !

This game deserves way more exposition.
I bought it thinking i was going to play a cheap jump scare game for streamers, and what i found was a well crafted game with disturbing atmosphere, clever puzzles with an actual IN GAME SOCIAL NETWORK where players can help each other without giving everything away, and just overall a very unique experience.
It has 5 chapters that are divided in two : the puzzle solving ( while you are sometimes chased by the creature ) and the confrontation with a different ghost that has its own mechanics to conclude the chapter, and oh boy, all of these confrontations are super creepy and super tensed, i loved it.
The plot seems to be a little bit convoluted, but it doesn't matter too much, the game gets you with its creepy imagery and atmosphere.
Give it a try and don't give up on the game even when you get stuck, it's worth it.

After 600 hours, i would describe the Isaac experience as a game that makes you miserable but you just can't stop playing. The lore, music and graphic are amazing and unforgettable and the strongest point of the gameplay is the incredible flexibility of synergies between items.
But except the few times where the RNG feels like being nice with you, this game has become so bloated with pointless items while still constantly increasing the difficulty that it's just not fun anymore. You will curse the name of Edmund evertime you get curse of the blind, or cursed eye, or basically anything that reminds you that this game absolutely hates you and probably your whole family too.
I feel spoiled now that i've played Hades : Hades was a rogue lite game that was constantly fun even when you lose, it just never runs out of adrenaline. Every time i start a run of Isaac , it feels like i'm doing my taxes.
I used to feel amazed at the possibilities this game offered, but apparently Edmund thought "fun" meant to take every cool item in the game, nerf them and make them twice as rare in a game with hundreds of pointless fart items.
Will i stop playing this game ? No, because i'm a masochist, and this game still holds enough pleasure that you want to crack the shell of insufferable BS to get to it.
But seriously ♥♥♥♥ this game.

Terraria is one of those game where it takes time for you to realise you're not really having fun.
Maybe if you focus on co-op and multiplayer with a friend or building cities, the game might have a better experience to offer.
Personally, after 54 hours of playing solo and after beating the golem, i can't overlook the games problems anymore.
Exploring, finding upgrades and ores and crafting is exciting.
What is not exciting are :
- the constant NECESSARY back and forth with the wiki to progress ( especially in hard mode )
- terrible inventory management that will either get you killed or spend hours cleaining it up
- constant difficulty spikes that spoils your sense of growth
- infinitely respawning enemies that never give you a break
- bosses you need to resummon with a consumable on every try ( stupidest idea i've ever seen ) , consumable which you need to tediously craft every time
- The "corruption" invading your lands : a stressful mechanic in a game where you are supposed to take your time
Bottomline, i would lie if i said there's no fun to be found in Terraria, but for me, it died buried under the amount of all its problems.

Top notch rogue like game !

The game has a great pacing, adrenaline fueled controls, 6 different weapons with sub-options and of course, every upgrade you get during a run synergize together, resulting in many crazy combinations. And the game almost always give you something to work with, it's rare to get a frustrating bad RNG run where nothing works.

Each run you complete will always trigger new content : new dialogues, new bonuses, or just the ability to buy more upgrade in the hub. And it has TONS, especially storywise : you'll need to complete 10 runs for the ending + many more to complete sidequests. It's just a nice feature to give the player so many incentives to keep playing.
You'll probably give in many times to the " one last run before going to bed" and then see the sun rise behind your shutters.

There's only a few grudges i have with the game, like how tedious it can be to move a sidequest forward but most importantly, the game being extremely generous to avoid bad RNG makes it easier and easier as you progress.
The game balances that by giving you the option to toggle all sorts of handicaps for your run, but i really hope there'll be new floors or bosses someday to crank things up.

Anyway, i was reluctant to buy the game at first because i usually don't like these kind of top view gameplay, but trust me, it's a safe bet.

It's easy for an indie game to catch your eye on the store with some atmospheric and artsy visuals, but many sadly end up as disappointments.
This is not one of them : Darq is a short but incredible game that conveys its story with no dialogues or text at all. The closest exemples i would have would be games like Limbo or Inside, but more focused on puzzle than action.
I won't spoil the story for you, but the world inside Lloyd's nightmares will reveal many surreal but highly symbolic events, with a very Silent Hill-ish vibe.
The gameplay mostly consists in you finding items and using them at the correct spot to progress, with a few horror phases as well. The experience is well balanced and fluid : you'll have to explore and think to solve the puzzles, but the areas are just the right size so that backtracking from place to place is never a problem.
Bottomline, i loved the game. I also streamed my run on Twitch and my small audience was hooked by the atmosphere and was trying to figure out what it all meant.
Also, there are DLC coming to extend the experience and they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FREE.

Still as good as i remember from the PS3 version.

As weird as it may seem, this game is a puzzle game, but the story takes a truly interesting take on love relationships, their contradictions, how we are torn apart between love and desire, but most of all : how to embrace who we are and move on with our lives accordingly.

The gameplay alternates with two phases :
- The narrative parts : Drinking at the bar, talking with your friends and other people , answering your phone : the answers you give have an influence on your Karma meter , which influences the ending.
- The nightmare phases : you have to climb up to the exit by pushing blocks, while the floor crumbles under your feet.
It sounds simplistic, but there are as many ways to solve a puzzle as there are to screw yourself up. It's surprisingly addictive and has a huge progression curve until you really get the hand of it.

A single run of the game is pretty short ( 12 hours ), but there are 8 different endings, several difficulty settings and a bonus mode that focuses only on puzzles, which gives it a great replay value.

If you don't own a PS4, go ahead and give a try : it's a very particular experience, and one of my favorite of all times personally. If you DO own a PS4, wait until September 2019 for the " Catherine : Full Body edition " which includes a whole new character in the story. No info yet on a possible update for the Steam Version once it is released.

A great rebirth for the Megaman main serie !
The new gear system is a great game design idea that lets you choose between a more offensive or defensive approach.

With four different modes of difficulty, and all the power ups at the store, the game allows YOU, the player, to balance the experience the way you want it.
You can enjoy the game casually by using E-tanks and extra 1-ups, or you can be hardcore
and do a " no item" / buster only " run.
The levels are fun and challenging, the boss patterns are easy to understand but hard to dodge.
The only real downside i found was the soundtrack, which was unfortunately really forgettable.
It's a really classic Megaman experience, with some new ideas, and a great replayability value.

Just buy the damn game already.

It's not just for the art style : all the boss fights are crazy and the ranking system encourages you
to get better at each fight. You get plenty of weapons to adapt to each situation.
Controls are responsive and dynamic.
About the length, i'd say about 8 hours to finish it then some more if you wanna try Expert mode and other achievements.
And it's 8 hours with no down time.
