Hi-Fi Rush: A Masterpiece of Rhythm and Action

This game was a huge surprise when it launched—finally, a flawless, passion-driven game emerged after so many mediocre productions. Hi-Fi Rush is a true masterpiece you can play. Its animation, style, humor, and, most importantly, its music are absolutely perfect in my opinion.

It’s a fast-paced experience that remains enjoyable even if you’re not great at pulling off attack combos. Everything about this game just feels right. Even after three years, the only bugs I’ve encountered have been minor camera issues.

If you ask me, you need to play this game at least once in your life.

Team Fortress 2: A Timeless Classic of Chaos and Fun

Since I first played Team Fortress 2 on October 6, 2015, I’ve created nothing but core memories. Every moment has been filled with chaos and fun. The appreciation I have for this game has been hard to find elsewhere—maybe because it was a part of my childhood, or maybe because it’s just that good.

Even now, in my free time, the hours I’ve spent playing deathmatches and shooting waves of robots while teaming up with charismatic randoms remain a unique experience I’ve rarely found in other games. Its cosmetics, cartoonish yet gory graphics, and overall charm make it even more special.

TF2 is truly a timeless game—you’ll always have a great time in every match that isn’t overrun by bots or hackers.

From beta to the official release, this game hasn't stopped on delivering fun since.

I love the carnage and chaos that goes on in this game, it's complete madness most of the time. The suspense of the counter about to finish the cash-out while all of a sudden the whole building explodes is just epic, unexpected and thrilling.

If you enjoy titles like Rainbow Six, Battlefield or Team Fortress 2, or if you like fast-paced competitive games, then this game is perfect for you.

I spent more time on the loading and restarting screens than the game itself.

This is one of my favorite games and one that I find it hard to get bored of. Below, I will be analyzing several points regarding the game based on my 130+ hours played at the time I am writing this.

🏃‍♂️ Parkour.
The parkour in the first Dying Light was a visceral and satisfying way to traverse the map, but it was never really challenging because there wasn't a huge variety of moves to learn. Sure, you had to use precision when tackling special parkour challenges, but for the most part, most of what you did was running, jumping, sliding, and climbing. Now the parkour system is exponentially more complex and engaging, you got the grappling hook, the para-glider and the parkour moves, making traveling through this world so dynamic and fun.

🌎 Open World.
Villedor stands as a remarkable achievement, boasting stunning beauty and flawless design catered for both parkour enthusiasts and combat aficionados. Brimming with captivating content, intricate interiors, and a treasure trove of fascinating details and Easter eggs, Villedor offers an immersive experience like no other.

In contrast to the bleak post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Harran, Villedor presents a totally different vibe. Here, a vibrant and pulsating life thrives on the rooftops, while the streets below resemble a war-torn battleground. The shift in ambiance is a breath of fresh air, and the ability to alter the world's color palette in the options menu is a brilliant addition, allowing players to further customize their experience.

🎶 Soundtrack & Ambiance.
The music in this game is definitely one of my favorite parts, as every moment and action has its own specific soundtrack. The music that plays when you do parkour encourages you to keep doing stunts without stopping, it makes it much more fun and dynamic than it already is. Each faction also has its own distinctive theme, which makes them easily recognizable when arriving at a location or fighting with NPCs. And finally, the game's main soundtrack perfectly reflects the tone of this game and what you're going to face.

🌙 The Night.
The night experience in this game has steadily improved with each update. The use of the music, ambiance, lack of lighting, and the menacing presence of volatiles patrolling the streets and rooftops bring together all the elements we loved in the first game and evolves and improves upon it in this one.

Conclusions

Dying Light 2 is a testament to gaming innovation, delivering a thrilling and unforgettable experience through improved parkour mechanics, a stunning open world, a memorable soundtrack, and a zombie/action game that delivers what it promises.

🔙 More like "Back 4 Left 4 Dead"
Left 4 Dead was different from the other zombie games of its time. Left 4 Dead took the concept of infected enemies and based it around teamwork and cooperation. The simple and fun mechanics made the gameplay fluid, and still does.

In back 4 Blood there just 4 people looking out for themselves. It's four people looking out for themselves and this is because they all value themselves and their stats more than the overall goal of winning. Nothing belongs to the team other than the shared victory, it's your kills, your damage and your loot surrounded by three others that could help achieving those goals, but at the end of the day if one drops dead it's no big deal and doesn't really change the outcome.

Left 4 Dead focuses solely on cooperation, because of how the game is designed and because players have nothing to gain other than achievements. The game gives you stats on the safe-house, but it doesn't matter, there's no XP for your levels or stars for your battle pass , it's just a fun boost.

🎬 The game's identity:
It's been 12 years since Left 4 Dead 2 launched and we're still talking about it and that's because the game nails its identity. The game has aged greatly for how long it's been released and i'm surprised it isn't even at all gross to look at and that's because the amazing simplistic art style. The first trailer for Left 4 Dead is fantastic, arguably even revolutionary, as it does everything that establishes the identity of the game in just 4 minutes and 24 seconds, it sells the tone while showing the game mechanics and zombies, everything that happens in the trailer can happen in the game, it also shows other iconic additions such as the amazing sound effects, character call-outs, special infected and diverse cast and voice acting.

Left 4 Dead 2 has a great trailer and it might be one of the best pieces of video game marketing of all time, where Left 4 Dead 1 had scary vibes the horror-like atmosphere, Left 4 Dead 2 does the complete opposite, you see a crew with nothing in common take the offensive showing off everyone's personalities while once again showing off the game mechanics, mission locations, weapons, infected and everything that makes this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, also making it look like a fun zombie movie, it also has an amazing soundtrack in the background.

Then you have Back 4 Blood. The reason the Left 4 Dead trailers worked so well is because they tried to present the games as a zombie movie. Each mission has a killer poster, the end of the missions have credits, and the trailers were cinematic in their simplicity and complexity, something Valve nails. Turtle Rock's trailer is typical, boring and disappointing, and looks like every other generic zombie game that has come out in the last five years.

🧟‍♂️ The "Special" Infected, oh sorry, Ridden*
The special infected are too easy to misidentify. There are only 3 "classes" of special infected and within each class, there are 3 variants with little difference between them. So it is very difficult to realize which variant you are fighting. There are no sounds or roars to make you identify if there is a special infected out there, while in Left 4 Dead all the special infected are easily recognizable, either by the sounds they make or simply because each of them looks different from the other.

There's no sound or music to tell you about the current game status. Identifying when a horde comes or when a high danger enemy is coming, unlike Left 4 Dead hordes which its theme changes depending on the chapter you are playing on, and the theme that sounds when the Tank is coming.

When I hear a car alarm go off and then hear that scream with the text that says you've alerted the horde, I feel panic and excitement at the same time, the music when a horde is about to arrive is one of the most exciting combinations of sounds and music you'll ever hear in a video game. Left 4 Dead is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie and a good movie always has a killer soundtrack. And how can I not mention the most satisfying soundtrack in the world, the victory end credits song. :chef_kiss:

🌐 Insufferable Matchmaking:
In my case, I have often waited more than 30 minutes to find a game to join. Continuing my campaign progress is almost impossible as no one ever joins. When I finally get to join, I'm with people that does not even speak my language, so the communication and "cooperation" is farther away than possible.

🔧 No Mod or Addon support:
Back 4 Blood barely gives reasons to replay the campaigns. You cannot expand the game with fun additions or cool mods unlike Left 4 Dead. No community support, no mods, no custom maps.

🪶 My conclusions:
Despite the amount of flaws related to be a Left 4 Dead 2 predecessor, the game is still enjoyable when you get to play it. But if you have to choose between B4B and L4D2, choose Left 4 Dead instead, or just wait until Back 4 Blood gets on sale if you really want to check the game out.

Left 4 Dead its more fun, has actually interesting characters, much better lore/story, better maps, ambiance, and last but not least, it is way more cheaper.

🍃 A new fresh start:
This new step from taking the FNAF franchise really gets the work done. How do you successfully translate FNAF into a fully free-roam experience? Believe me, Steel-Wool and Scott nailed it.

I easily got in love with the characters in the game, even if some of them didn't get as much as screen time as they should have. It's amazing how those 2D indie games came to where they are now, and it's been an honor to be part of this journey since 2014.

🥳 Pros& Appreciations:
・Amazing voice acting.
・Adds more lore and theories to the story.
・Stunning graphics and art style.
・Fun and scary gameplay at the same time.
・Fells fresh and not repetitive in terms of being a new FNAF title.
・Expressive and fluent animations and cut scenes.
・Really creative locations, themes, and characters.
・Good humor both in the story and environmental design.
・Tons of fan service and easter eggs about classic and fanmade FNAF games.

📬 Cons & Suggestions:
・Optimization problems. In my case I have experienced frequent rendering problems when traveling to other zones in the map.
・Certain sections are poorly explained, or have not the best controls (avoid Mazersize).
・Bugs at the time of not following the missions in order.
・Some main characters are barely shown in the main story. I really hope they get to fix/expand the story of Vanessa/Vanny and Afton in some future DLCs.
・At first I noticed that chica used to teleport in some levels, but as I have played again I haven't experienced this bug anymore.
・Another bug that does not let you get in/out of freddy that basically corrupts the save file.
・Story may look fine when you play it for first time, but then you realize that is quite short. I also hope it gets expanded as well with future DLCs.

🪶 My conclusions:
Overall, I love this game, it's a creative, unique horror game that tried something different both thematically as a horror game and gameplay-wise as a FNAF game. The developers have released a statement committing themselves towards consistent patches for this game until all of the issues are solved, so hopefully the optimization issues are eventually taken care of.

The gameplay follows the steps of games such as outlast, slender, resident evil; So the mechanics will be familiar with most of the horror fans. That being said, this was a really bold move for the FNAF franchise and for what it is, I found it to be a really enjoyable experience despite the bugs that will eventually be fixed.

🌤️ A Welcoming change in the Zombie Genre:
Not the typical horde and zombie shooter, this game is an absolute blast, its environment is 100% immersive, you really feel that you are inside Harran surviving with the best parkour mechanics, it is like a dream made into a video game.

Dying Light is completely different from its contemporary games by featuring fluid parkour system, amazing voice acting and awesome gameplay mechanics.

🎮 Gameplay:
The Parkour.
The game is first-person with a strong emphasis on parkour mechanics, which is the highlight of this game, as it gives you all the freedom to explore Harran in a fun and dynamic way. There is no restriction on climbing or running.

The Combat.
Combat is mainly melee based with the occasional use of weapons which makes fighting zombies tactical. The game has a dynamic day and night cycle that is well designed, in the morning the zombies are slow and easy to kill, but at night there are particular zombies that are vicious, fast and strong, making you run and hide rather than fight. The game has a character progression system that allows you to upgrade your character's abilities, which makes killing zombies more fun because of the level up concept.

📖 Story & Plot:
We take on the role of an undercover government agent whose mission is to find a possible cure for a strange zombie disease that has been effectively contained within a city as we enter into trust with the survivors and discover the dark secrets and intentions behind the event. I loved each of the characters in the story, especially Brecken and Jade, although some of them don't have a full character arc, this motivates you to investigate and theorize more about them.

🤔 My conclusions:
I love this game, it's one of the best zombie games I've ever played and I can't wait for the release of its sequel: Dying Light 2.

The voice acting is remarkable, especially Kyle's voice performed by the talented voice actor Roger Craig Smith [www.imdb.com] , who conveys all that emotion and realism to the character.
