People describe No Players Online as a Horror Game, and while that might seem true on the surface, No Players Online isn't exactly something akin to Alien Isolation. However, it uses tension, unease and that feeling that something might be peering over your shoulder to weave in a very intriguing and personal story on the difficulty that comes with loving another person. The visuals can be unsettling at times but gives way to some really wonderful character moments and fascinating gameplay using a mix of FPS, Puzzles and a Desktop-style environment.

This game is only a few hours long, but well worth playing. It's a lovely novella packaged into a charming indie game that radiates with the passion of years of work. I highly recommend booting up that old computer and exploring the story it holds.

Early Access Review
Even if you're not a huge roguelite player like I am, I think you'll still enjoy this. Has a feel like a mix of both Borderlands and Dead Cells. For an early access game, the gameplay is extremely solid - tight controls, excellent mechanics, genuinely challenging. My only complaint is after many runs the stages can seem a bit samey, but this may change over time as well and is honestly easy enough to get over.
