It's a fun game, really cool to see what sort of builds you can put together. Very in-depth with its status effects and modifiers without ever really "locking" you into a specific playstyle. Highly recommend if you enjoy games like Enter The Gungeon or Hades.

Hypnospace Outlaw is one of the best "Late 90's Internet Nostalgia" experiences online right now. The indirect storytelling paired with the theme of wacky 90s websites and web culture is amazing, and the soundtrack fits everything perfectly.

Absolutely recommended.

Great game, would recommend if you like the feeling of punching yourself in your emotions sometimes. The story itself can be a bit cliche, admittedly, but there are lots of other details and secrets that make it worth playing. The mockup websites and .txt files add to the immersion very well in my opinion, and have great potential should this game be expanded in the future.

Story is meh, gameplay is great. Freerunning through the slums, scavenging abandoned homes for supplies, crafting all sorts of brutal weapons, rescuing survivors, loads of zombies, all piled on top of amazing graphics, and you've got yourself a decent time sink.

Haven't played multiplayer yet (honestly I have no interest in trying it), but it is a great single-player game. You should definitely wait to pick it up until it goes on sale, because as fun as it is, I don't think it's entirely worth $60.

EDIT: This negative review doesn't mean I hate the game, it's definitely one of my most favorite games in recent history. The review is based on the company's business practices (promising no microtransactions, and adding them anyway, constanly adding paid DLC, and basically anything they can do to get an extra buck).

EDIT 2: ****Sep. 2 2016**** Positive review now because it actually seems that Overkill is listening to the community, adding many new community suggestions and QoL improvements, leading to a more friendly experience. Despite the rocky road behind us, I believe Overkill can make Payday 2 great again.
