Bullet Hell games has never been a genre I've fully tapped into. I've never played any official Touhou games and I haven't even played the prequel to this game (as of writing this atleast), Suguri. So it makes me wonder, why would I go out of my way to buy a game that just doesn't even seem like it'd be for me? Well, I will get to my reasoning in a bit. First, I want to talk about a few things.

The difficulty of this game is incredibly high, it can take hours even finishing a stage and ramps up in difficulty incredibly quick. Even if you played "easy" mode, it's still incredibly challenging. There is unfortunately no way to make the game easier besides learning the controls and mechanics. (aka, git gud). This is overall a negative for the game, as I would imagine some would want to see this game for its story and characters rather then suffering through the game's difficult gameplay.

The controls are very snappy and fun, I've never had any issues playing with a PC Keyboard. There are several weapons to choose from for your attacks, and it's all nicely customizable. (You DO have to unlock weapons though by playing the game.)

The sound design is simple and pretty generic, but the music for this game is outstanding and one of the highest points in my opinion. DEKU composed an incredible late 2000's-trance OST that meshes perfectly with every stage and boss. Highly recommend to check out the game's OST if you love trance. Grey Hued, Le Train, Regalia, Grand blue, they're all fantastic.

Graphics are nothing to really scream about, it's exactly what it looks like in the store's preview pages. Should not be an issue to run at all. Some nice usage of 3D map environments in the stage backgrounds, though.

Alright. Now that I have yapped for way too long, why *did* I buy this game?

The premise.

The premise for this game is outstanding. Everything about it is completely up my alley. It starts off with a girl who was raised into a world of war where it has lasted so long to the point where nobody even understands why they are fighting anymore. Sora, the main character of the game (which has a double-meaning for this game's theme, since Sora is Sky in Japanese, I believe.) is put to immediate use to fight for her country.

While loyal to her side, she questions the entirety of her purpose and goal in the first mission. After fighting Alte (The first stage's boss), she wakes up and learns that there are still others who cannot fight that want to fix the world to be a brighter place. This overall motivates her to be apart of her own faction and take on the entire world by herself, with NO outside help. The rest of the game follows this path, and it's just an amazing story-telling premise the entire way through that shows the actions of Sora's selfish choice.

While I praise the premise for its high-stakes and concept, the overall story introduces several characters who have their own goals and resolves to fight. There is so much premise in these character designs, themes, and even the music that you are sucked into this world of mystery and chaos and you just want to know even more.

Unfortunately, this game suffers from a lack of further exposition and has little to no interludes between each stages. Every stage will have you jump towards a completely new environment and plot point of Sora's character, which can be incredibly jarring and confusing. There's not enough cutscenes and dialogue to fully flesh out this beautifully tainted world that one like myself would love to learn more of. It's not even a matter of loss of translation or something, there just *isn't* enough descriptions for several characters and plot points. While it DOES add to the game's mystery, it can be rather frustrating not knowing a lot that is going on-- especially in the final mission (which originally WAS the finale for the game, until they added an EX stage that salvaged a bunch of questions.)

There is extra detail of characters and lore in other games such as 100% Orange Juice, 200% Mixed Juice, Acceleration of Suguri 2, etc but it would have been nice to see this game fully flourish in its amazing premise. Sora HD remastered when???

Overall, this is an incredibly fun (and frustrating) game that I highly recommend anyone to pick up and try out despite my nitpicky complaints and rants. Playing Suguri beforehand is recommended as well!

The simpler times where Flash reigned supreme online. To building crazy mechanical robots, Samurai Kirby cutscenes, obliterating or feeding cats, dodging thousands of bullets, going through waves of enemies, or having a time of your live in a sidescroller RPG... this is Epic Battle Fantasy Collection.

You'll see veterans wanting this game on day 1, and newcomers coming and staying for the classical content of Newgrounds days.

This is a great collection for a cheap price of restored games in the flesh. Highly recommend. If you excuse me, I got some medal hunting to do!

Fancy pants is back, yet again! He's got even more fancy pants to show.

The game is really charming, it just feels like old newgrounds days all over again with some fresh new styles. It's still of course, an awesome painted world. As for the gameplay, it feels really nice and responsive, but it would be nice for some button configuration settings for some players. Fancy pants does keep his melee weapon from the old fancy pants adventure. Of course, with some new attacks, some of which are pretty neat, others may be a bit "meh" though. (I'm looking at you spinning attack >:C I WANT MY OLD SPINNING ATTACK BACK.)

There's a bunch of collectables too, in nearly every room there's a hidden door with a challenge room in it. Beat that and you got yourself some sick new pants, or even a completely new hat!

The story is nothing over-the-top, with very little dialouge makes it very interesting for you to figure out what happens. Sometimes scenes just randomly HAPPEN while just going through the next screen. ...That's kind of it though for the story, the final boss is pretty trippy though.

The game is uh... very short though, you could probably beat it in a few hours or so. You could always go back to levels and get the challenges, but if you are like me and just get every challenge in order.. there's not much else.

Luckily, the game knew about this. They added an entire new update with the entire remix world 1! Now you can collect MORE things! There's also races and even a whole arena gamemode, I do wonder how multiplayer can work. I can imagine it being fun.

My only real biggest concern of this game is the price, 10 dollars may be cheap for some people.. but a somewhat short game like this with not much content at the moment.. It's best if you wait for a sale perhaps or something else. Though, I bet they will add more updates though. Currently, it does feel pretty short.

Overall, it's a charming and fancy game that brings back old and new memories and the gameplay is downright fun, but the price still concerns me of it's current content.

I'd give it a 7.5/10 for now.. If they update this game even more I might edit this review! :D

The title is right about one thing, this game is EPIC!

3 Players to play as, all with their own supporting role and strategies.

Multiple elements and weaknesses.. and even status effects too.

There's tons of equipment, with each one being able to upgrade to Level 5 with the right materials (dropped by enemies, hidden treasure chests in the overworld, or even completing quests!)

There's alot of quests that are actually pretty useful and not that difficult, some even grant you hidden moves for you to learn.

The overworld is nice, and charming. Minigames can be fun but sometimes stressful.

The combat itself can be very complex at first due to having so many options and all 3 characters at the start.. but you will get used to it fairly soon.

The game's bonus content is suprisingly large, with alot of cool concept art and even FAN art, also the AMAZING soundtrack. There's alot of medals to get, and if you have enough you can unlock hidden rooms with even more equipment.

This game normally can take around 10-20 hours to beat, depending how you play. There's 4 difficulty modes, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Epic.

Once you get into later battles, you really have to think and not just spam attacks hoping for the best. Elemental weaknesses are very important.

The Final Boss in my opinion is a huge step-up difficulty, with me getting my first game-over on it, I pray for those souls who play on Epic.

Overall, this is a very fun and charming RPG game. While the story is quite generic and doesn't really have much of a plot, it's still a great RPG game to play. If you thought this game was good, you should try EBF4, and soon awaits an upcoming EBF5.

This game is free, and the soundtrack is too! I reccomend this game, it's a fun little series.

Distance is a great racing game that has fun in many aspects in it. I really love playing this, and the custom levels you can download it make it even more fun. You can actually replay Acceleracers in this game.

My only issue with Distance, is the camera when reverseing. The controls in reverse are quite difficult and the camera is very frustrating for me. It's not exactly easy to control.

Other than that, I recommend this game. With it being Beta, I'm sure there's much more to come!!

One of the best messing around games out there, and if not the best.

With posing ragdolls, killing many enemies, creating a rocket car, gamemodes, and so much more to do... You'll probably end up playing this game again.

There's an amazing amount of add-ons that you can get, and new ones are being made every day. The ride never ends, it's quite an addicting game. I highly recommend playing with friends for best expierence.

If you're new to Steam, this is a great starter game along with other Valve games.

PS. Face-Posing is a thing of beauty.
