Despite the flaws, The Leviathan's Fantasy is a deep and fun experience.

There's a few things that almost prevented me from recommending this one. It's really not built for English speakers, leading to a very clunky user interface and occasional broken English all over the place. I am also playing on a mid-range PC, and while tweaking the graphic settings can get it running smooth, the visuals take a big dive, and performance still isn't fantastic.

Aside from that - once you get past the slight learning curve, it's a super-fun management sim that sees you essentially operating a MMORPG town. I know there's other lore that explains your "divine body", but it really is a MMORPG management sim. You build a city for tourists and adventurers, enticing them to spend their money and settle down. Adventurers will travel through portals, each with their own equipment and personalities, defeating enemies and following "bounties" you send them on.

The result is a satisfying gameplay loop of city builder + crafting as you attempt to satisfy, equip and buff your residents to higher levels.

I wish the game had more polish overall, but there's not many other games that scratch this itch.

the TLDR - It's free to play, not pay-to-win. Beautiful world, satisfying combat, deep crafting and building systems.

Once Human is a not-quite MMO of the third-person shooter crafting/survival variety. It borrows a lot of systems and ideas from other eastern post-apocalyptic MMO's, in particular Level Infinites UNDAWN and SYNCED. Once Human does a few things significantly better than its peers however - most significantly is a lack of forced PVP. Sure you can sign up for a PVP server or troll truck events - but overall there isn't a focus on PVP content that ignites competition and pay-to-win systems (both of which were rampant in Level Infinite games).

Server wipes seem to be a big topic when it comes to people trying this game. It's a different system than traditional MMO's, but I feel like it's perfect for this kind of game. The rotating servers/seasons helps bring veteran players together with new folks - and even with the jumpstart that vets get from carry-overs of past seasons, it never seems to be overpowered.

All in all it's a refreshing approach to the genre - fusing together necessary survival and crafting mechanics with solid worldbuilding, storytelling and visuals. It's mechanically rich, offering a plethora of different approaches to combat challenges, and the devs seem to be actually listening to their player base.

Great game BUT wow did the mess up the Steam version.

Playing this game directly from steam will only give you the dungeon gameplay. NOTHING ELSE.

You NEED to go to the publishers website and download the H(18+) patch in order to get ANY of the story content.

That means without getting the patch, you get NO dialogue between characters, no scenes, no story at ALL.

So I'd say the version on steam is a little misleading. This is a (18+) game with a necessary H patch that is almost unplayable without it.

If you can get past that nonsense, it's a really solid game, super fun gameplay loop of managing a dungeon and the monsters inside and tower-defense auto-battler stages. I wish I could recommend this more but you REALLY need to know what you're getting into with the patch nonsense, aka I hope you like anime tiddies

I have never played another Metal Gear game.

On it's own, this is a solid survival game. Everything is very satisfying gameplay-wise. Slow growth, lots of weapons and tools, nice visuals. Didn't care much for the story line, but aside from some of the awful NPC dialogue it kept me interested.

It's got a decent gamplay loop of Craft+Explore+Tower Defence+Repeat. There's a lot of game under the hood for $30 bucks, so I'd say it's worth a try for fans of survival games or zombie games.

In my opinion this is the best Warhammer 40,000 game for lore-lovers.

I've played quite a few Warhammer games from the shooters to the more tactical strategy games. More often than not they feel a bit like nothing beyond a digital adaptation of the tabletop games. Rogue Trader really gets into the world building, which i adore.

Aside from that, the combat is great with lots of attributes and systems to explore, there's a lot under the hood. The music is phenomenal, as is the sound design.

There's a handful of things I'd like to see fixed but there's been updates and DLC on the horizon that seem to be fixing those - from overall balance to additional archetypes and more content after chapter 3.

Definitely recommended for fans of CRPGs and Warhammer 40k/ Dark Sci-Fi

*Edited for Steam Awards Achievement* - still loving it, on my 3rd play thru right now as a Chaos-leaning character - boy is it fun being a bad guy in the expanse

bruh I remember when "free games" meant you had to open up internet explorer and head over to AddictingGames.com and fire up some absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥ flash game to keep your attention for a few hours.

nowadays devs be dropping free games like this and it's just insane. there's a ton of content for f2p players - of course since this is essentially a mobile game theres a plethora of mictrotransactions, but you can have fun and enjoy the story without spending a cent.

aside from that, Snowbreak is quite a solid 3rd person shooter with plenty of waifus and an interesting enough story. If it looks neat to you give it a shot, what do you have to lose

Long time MMORPG player here to set the record straight. There are mostly negative review for this game so far, and I sincerely believe it does not deserve it. I will attempt to articulate why.

The Positives:
  • Wonderful Art Style and World-Building - As a fan of games like Planescape Torment, I really enjoy the overall atmosphere. The art direction of the creatures and characters is really top notch. There is a surprising amount of flavor-text - your character automatically keeps a journal of your missions in excruciating detail, illustrations and all!
  • Unique Setting - I love when MMO's do something different from the typical high-fantasy setting. It's not just for show either, the story has some very dark moments. This is far from the boiler plate YOU ARE THE CHOSEN HERO story, many NPCs will despise you or actively conspire against you. The world is bloody, filthy, stinky and cruel. There's no knights in shining armor or angels showing off their wings, just crust covered beings as far as the eye can see.
  • No Autoplay - An unfortunate side effect of our mobile era of gaming is the Auto Quest Mechanic. Most MMORPG's released nowadays are made for mobile devices with merely a port for PC, and while a few mobile UI quirks isn't game breaking, I find the mobile auto-play function is incredibly game breaking. It's honestly refreshing to install something and my character isn't being auto-routed to the nearest objective, skyrocketing me a dozen levels without me even having to click. Does a good job of keeping the bots away as well.

    The Negatives:
  • Translation - There's no English voiceover audio, which isn't a huge deal. I have however found several cinematic moments where the characters will speak in Korean but no English subtitles appear. This hasn't been game breaking, as I have still managed to follow the narrative, but I'd like to see it fixed. From time to time, text dialog with NPC's will have awkward grammatical moments, leading me to believe it might not be fully localized for English speakers understanding.
  • Micro-Transactions - As with most MMO's nowadays, there's a plethora of in-game currencies and premium-bought currencies for the player to purchase. While I am nowhere close to endgame, I only see two negatives thus far. One being the cost of the currency in general seems a bit high, with 500 diamonds costing about $10.99 if I recall correctly. Beyond this, there are several steps to convert these diamonds into other in-game currencies used for purchasing different things - this is a convoluted and predatory practice in my opinion. Additionally, the cosmetic system - while gorgeous - is equally convoluted and gatcha-oriented. You will need to purchase special orbs to make gacha rolls for apparel pieces, randomly getting different outfit pieces for different sets. This means you will likely need to make a large investment to potentially ROLL the outfit you want to wear, as opposed to simply purchasing it in one piece from the shop. There is, however, a player shop where you can sell your unwanted cosmetics, though I have not explored this.
  • Heavy Grind - The game is no cakewalk. This matches the aesthetics of the game perfectly. You will die to low-level enemies, and your progression will be slow. I personally LOVE this, but I understand that this play-style is not for everyone. It's really much more like ToS, Ragnarok and even to some extent BDO in that way.

    The Criticism and Conclusion
To be honest I am not sure what people are expecting. It's a free game. You can download it and play it entirely for free and not worry about micro-transactions inhibiting your play, at least for the first 10-20 hours. Might you have to pay to be competitive and/or make it to end game? Perhaps. Can the tutorial be re-balanced? Absolutely. I don't know, I just could not bring myself to call this a bad game. I have played about 10 hours and not spent a single cent, I have had lots of fun following the dark story line, enjoying the immaculate artwork, and slowly grinding my build. I have played dozens - if not hundreds - of other far worse MMORPG's. Honestly it's exciting to see something like this get released, I hope more people give it a try.

Can't recommend this game in good consciousness. After about 100 hours, I can safely say this game is a cluster****.

I was initially attracted by the visual style and the combat early on, seeing some potential for a POE/Diablo style MMORPG. I actually enjoyed doing little life-skills and taking things pretty slow. Unfortunately the game is a race to the endgame content, at which point you must suffer one of the most picky communities that has ever existed to even get placement in certain events. Have a build that differs slightly from what has been optimized? Forget about it.

I gave this one a solid try, but even the social aspect of this game is a disaster. I've never had issues finding like-minded groups of folks in MMO's but after joining several guilds in Lost Ark it's simply hopeless. Whole game is a farm for bots at this point with very little soul under the surface. If you are, in the words Josh Strife Hayes, a "Visual Tourist" - then you might enjoy this game for a few hours, otherwise STAY FAR AWAY.

Honestly, it's a fun MMORPG. Very similar to games like Secret World Legends, Defiance 2050 and Fallen Earth. 3rd person shooter with skill mechanics, investigative quest lines and immersive world building.

Content is divided between PVE and PVP content. There's a surprisingly large amount of PVE content that will bring you all over the map helping people, hunting beasts or gathering resources. PVP is here, but it's not entirely mandatory - participation DOES reward upgrade materials, so it's a good idea to try to participate. Unfortunately, you WILL run into whales during matchmaking that will annihilate you. Fortunately, PVP is a rather small part of the Undawn experience.

There's a few things about this game that I really enjoy. It's nice that it's also a mobile game - when I don't want to sit at my desk I can get gathering resources on my phone before bed. There's also a pretty fantastic homestead building system, fun Camp (guild) events, an in-depth avatar health/metabolism/cleanliness system, big maps, et cetera.

Of course it's a little rough around the edges. Some things feel a little cheap, certain textures are incredibly low resolution or recycled often. The same 6 or 7 bosses are recycled time and time again for stronghold missions and guild events, so enemy variety is a little lacking. It can get grindy as well once you're level 69ish, with lots and lots of materials needing to be gathered or earned in order to upgrade equipment, repair gear or build your homestead.

All in all, I have been having a LOT of fun with this game. I sincerely don't understand all the hate. If you play it slow and don't stress the PVP, then there is nothing to stress about. PVE content can be played 100% for free and even at a fast pace you will still get 20-40 hours of playtime. It's even a pretty beautiful game if you crank all the graphic settings to ultra - it's no AAA title, but it's certainly passable for a MMO.

If this game looks interesting, definitely give it a shot.

Actually quite fun! I typically play these type of "Idle" games on my phone, but the artwork for this one caught my attention. Unlike mobile games however, it's nice to just pay for the game and not deal with any cash-shop or anything like that.

The core 'gameplay loop' is running your team of chibi warriors through levels of auto-combat. As you move up the levels, your warriors will level up through experience points while collecting equipment and outfits. You can dismantle your unwanted equipment to purchase new equipment in the shop, RNG style - or you can spend currency to enhance your warriors with unwanted equipment. When the difficulty of the auto-combat levels gets too much - you can restart your run from Lvl 1 to gain more experience and equipment. Rinse and repeat!!!

Aside from the main line of auto-combat levels, every hour a special area will open. Combat in this special area gives different currencies that can let you change the appearance and color of your equipment.

The grind is slow, but comfortable. There are LOTS of different designs for the equipment and costumes, and the system of appearance/color swap makes character customization really fun.

I hope the developers continue to work on this game. I would REALLY like to see a few more gameplay loops to make things more engaging when you're not playing full idle. Something like a tower defense mode would be a fun way to mix things up. As long as they don't add PVP - one of the best things about this game is there is NO PVP, echoing the lack of cash-shop - as someone who has played a ton of these games on mobile, they are always shoving PVP in as a way to encourage players to spend money for fast upgrades in the cash shop. Kudos to the dev's for not including any of that nonsense.
