The reviews are pretty mixed. As a huge dishonored fan (i absolutely LOVED the first version), let me walk you through why that is.

pros:
-interesting story line (although i feel Dishonored original had a more gripping/emotional story)
-lots to do (took me 12 hours to do my first playthough, am currently on the second)
-plenty of ways to play; whether you like going high chaos (killing everyone) or truly playing as an assassin, this game makes any combination of play-styles fun and rewarding (although, it is much more challenging taking it slow and avoiding killing anyone)
-artwork in game is beautiful. No, it's not ultra realistic, but it's beautiful in its own way
-lots of interaction with the world (killing someone or sparing someone will change the story)
-plethora of side-quests/extra actives
-supernatural abilities are f***ing cool, no other way to put it.

cons:
-performance is pretty bad. I have a gtx 970 sc and get 60+ FPS in indoor areas, but many of the "larger" areas (such as long streets, or the view from the top of a big building) drops my fps to 45. It's still very playable, but MOST or the negative reviews are from the FPS. Some people reported artifacting or screen tearing, i have not experienced these issues.

overall, i love this game. I bought the special edition pre-order (with the mask and ring) and do not regret spending a penny of the $100 price tag. If you have not played the original Dishonored, i highly recommend you buy that before purchasing dishonored 2. It's not critical to the in game story, but many of the letters you find or smaller "lore" findings need the original dishonored story to make sense.

Let me start off by saying, overall, this game is fantastic. If you like other Bethesda games, you should have no problem enjoying Wolfenstein. It features many aspects of both a first person shooter, and role playing game. Running and gunning is as important as collecting ammo, armor, ect. When i purchased this game, i was expecting a ♥♥♥♥ shoot-em-up style game. I got that, and much much more. Although I would argue that the story is not as important or rich as the story in say, Dishonored, the story is still captivating serves to drive the game well.

-Nice, Bethesda style graphics
-plenty of different weapons to match your playstyle
-plenty of non-essential lore (stuff like artwork on the walls, letters and other papers you can inspect to learn more about the story)
-multiple ways to clear a level (a bit of stealth or brute force)

-I found that the checkpoint system could use some work. Maybe i’m just blind, but in game, there is this blue diamond shaped icon that appears over areas you need to investigate. However, to my understanding, this is only visible directly in front of the object. If you’re a bit lost in a room and there’s a wall or two infront of the icon, you’re out of luck. Nothing major, but it causes for some frustration at times.
-playing the errand boy. Many times in this story you are told to do a simple task for a character (grab this item, do this thing, ect.) which is all fine, but almost all of these incidents lead to your character walking through a one way door and having to spend 10 minutes to get back where he came from. It’s not so much bad as it is silly. Like “why not take one of the guys just sitting around and ask them to deliver the ‘x’ to ‘y.’”

that’s about it. as i said, amazing game. Don’t get too caught up on the cons i listed, they are only minor details. I

yeah, it has some bugs, it's not perfect, but it's a one of a kind experience only capable of being brought to you by rockstar. I owned this game on my Xbox 360 for a year, took a year break, and just recently bought it on PC. If you're an original gen player like myself, you'll be blown away by the overhaul in graphics and general apearance. it looks beautiful, even on low graphics.
