Fun so far, everything is free, seems easy to earn currency to get cosmetics without paying real cash. Idk, you can see comic style privates everywhere - what's not to love?

Decides to cut off paying customers and loyal players because they can't be bothered to fix their anti-cheat :') No Tux, no bux.

I loved the first game, how you were this isolated AI trying to navigate the decaying machine dream of a now extinct humanity. Philosophical debates and concepts were throw at you along the way, but it was deeply lonely. Good puzzles, thought provoking, interesting story.. it was a complete package.

It didn't need a sequel.

The puzzles are easier, the philosophy isn't up to par, and you're followed by these annoying androids that keep throwing quips at you with some damn poor voice acting. It's a prettier game for sure, but they make you walk so much that it's off putting. None of the charm or personality of the first game, oh, and the story is painfully predictable.

A petty point is that these machines keep referring to themselves as human, guys, you're a bunch of ones and zeroes on a chip with a cold steel body. May as well say that dolphins are human with this game's logic, they have the ability to form language after all.

Next time make these puzzles into a DLC for the original. Don't bother.

Perfect. It's perfect.

I loved the original Hades like many, many others and while I had little doubt the sequel would be a banger, I didn't expect it to hit this hard. New boons are fun with many interesting synergies to discover, fantastic art as always, great OST, new memorable characters to fall in love with, and a new protagonist to simp for. What else do you want?

My take is this: even in EA this is a better game than the original, and I'm super excited for the final product.

It's a horror / slice of life VN with superb writing, nice art, great characters, and a compelling narrative. It's hard to review this game without spoiling anything, so instead I'll say that it has a very interesting system for determining how characters interact and treat the MC, everything is tethered to your actions and choices. I've already played through the game multiple times with every available trait. The issue I have now is having to wait for the rest of the chapters to release.

Please buy this so there's more money for the developers, maybe that'll translate to my getting the chapters sooner.

Such a wonderful gem of a game. It takes the standard monster tamer genre mechanics of turn-based combat, types, abilities etc, and provides it with a few unique twists. Namely; fusions and type interactions.

It goes far beyond simple 'super effective' that other titles are limited to, instead you can use a Water type to inflict 'burning' on a Leaf/Grass type via boiling it (think water and steam) The fusions in the game are plentiful and are integral to your overall success, especially against the toughest enemies.

Everything is handcrafted with regard to art, OST, etc. Several of the songs in this game now belong on my playlist as they're that good. It's also cheap.

All of this from a tiny indie studio in Brighton, can't complain at all. Except that I simply want more Cassette Beasts in general. Sequel when?

I wish there were a "Maybe" option for reviews because after 50+ hours of playing this game, that's how I feel - conflicted, confused about whether I've largely enjoyed my time with it. There's some 'spoiler-y' talk in this review, so bear that in mind before reading. I don't explicitly label or name any story elements but I do discuss their impact.

You'll experience great writing and dialogue with your companions, but not enough of it, especially with regards to romance. You'll grow attached to the companions but be annoyed when you realise the camp you share is so stale and lifeless. The camera will frustrate you as it once again clips through a staircase and forces you to walk backwards. You'll have to return to camp any time you wish to swap companions in your party. Companions will stop moving mid-run because the pathfinding is so poor. You'll be forced to reload saves multiple times because of bugs preventing NPCs from spawning or cutscenes from working. There will be story elements that are hyped up throughout the game only to leave you disappointed with their culmination in the final Act.

All of these relatively minor issues compound as you get deeper into the game, and in my case they became a headache and almost a deal-breaker for my enjoyment. There are more that were minor enough that I've now forgotten or simply haven't thought about them enough. If you can look past all of that (which the vast majority have) then you'll find a game with great characters, beautiful environments, enormous replayability, good class balance, and a well implemented DnD combat system (if you like that) Just bear in mind that past Act 1 the polish and sheen wears off.

Great characters, fun combat system, cosy setting, phenomenal soundtrack.. there's very few games I'd give the 'perfect' label to but I think this would be one of them. Everyone needs to play P4G if they have the slightest interest in RPGs.

Classic Bethesda experience. You get all the bugs, glitches, dead eye staring NPCs that your heart could wish for. In 2023. I'm not exaggerating when I write that a few of the hours I've spent playing this game are very likely to be purely loading screens. Exploration is minor, planets are procedural, assets are reused across areas. Base building is unnecessary and tedious. The 'side quests' (the major ones at least) are actually pretty good. Main story is fine.

Honestly, the main problem with Starfield isn't the setting, or the characters, or the quest design; instead it is the dated formula and engine that Bethesda decided to implement it with. For this much money you deserve better. Go play Balder's Gate 3 if you want a high quality, respectfully made RPG in the modern day, or go back to Mass Effect 1 / 2 if you want something more classic.

I count myself lucky I got this game for free with my GPU. Don't bother unless it's on sale.

Three sex scenes.
David Cage dancing with semi-naked female protagonist with huge baps.
Not at all racist or sexist. Shut up.

The opening third is fantastic. The rest of it is absolutely trash.

10/10.
