Right, so let me get down to it. Yes the game is great, it's beautiful, it has a rich story and you can pretty much do anything you want and still get to complete the quest. But, I also think the game is put on a pedestal. I wish i didn't have to click continue EVERY time i roll the dice. If I succeed, continue with the dialogue. I also had a few bugs and issues along the way, as is with every game, so it's not perfect either. I wish I could access all inventories when I camp, rather than adding someone to my party, going to the chest, looting what i need, then unparty and reparty. I had to follow a guide on multiclassing as the game wasn't helpful in that regard and didn't offer any tips on how to do this. Questing can also be frustrating as sometimes you have no idea what to do next. Last but not least, this was the most fun I've had with a game in years, and if these few moaning points is the price I need to pay for an enjoyable game, which I've started another play through (something I've only ever done once all my life), then I am happy to pay it as I know Larian will continue to improve the game and listen to feedback.

Early Access Review
Very relaxing. Creative mode is a great addition. I wish there was a little more of a preview of the tiles so you could plan ahead and maybe one undo step for those times that your dog really needs your attention and you might have just ruined your calming zen game

It's the game that taught me to look up and just take screenshots 90% of the time. Good gameplay, easy enough. Only gripe would be how side quests can influence the main quests. Some are not easily identifiable, hidden or you have to execute in a precise way. I would advise you follow a guide to ensure you get the endings you want. A decision 8 hrs in impacted my end game and I didn't even know it would when I got to the decision 14 hrs in. Save often. i couldn't go back. All in all, beautiful game. Ran smoothly and on max setting on my 5 year old machine.

I've played destiny from the very start, and although it has some minor things I wish they would change (Like the way the questing is done, highlighted and tracked), but beyond that, it is a rich story line, with amazing visuals and it keeps on getting you hooked. It's something for everyone. PVP, PVE, raids, dungeons, planet exploration and unlimited loot and exotics.

Pretty fun and the combat is good. I did however find the level scaling off close to the end of the game as I was struggling to finish maps without struggling in combats and being overwhelmed by enemies.

The devil himself created this game to enjoy your frustration and anguish. It's fantastic though. Well worth the struggle

All in all the game is very good. It is a similar gameplay from Master of shadows with some improvements.

HOWEVER.

I was very dissapointed with the story line in general. I had re-played master of shadows a few weeks before getting Shards of darkness. Therefore the story line was quite fresh in my mind.
In the end of master of shadows, Rakash/Styx loses all his memories of the events at Akenash but almost from the onset of Shards of Darkness, it is as if Styx had no memory loss at all He remembers everything from the previous game as if the memory loss never happened Now this would have been perfectly acceptable if the game went into details on how he regained all memories. During the game he also refers and meets up with a lot of characters from Akenash, talking about taking revenge on certain characters from the previous game, which he should not even remember at all . Shards of darkness does not kick off many years after the Fall of Akenash and therefore Styx should be close to the person he was at the end of Master of darkness. The game left a huge void in the plot regarding this and I was constantly bothered by the dialogue referring to the previous game. Recollection of what occured in the time passing between master of shadows and shards of darkness in a form of a cinamatic would have cleared all this up and made the game to a die hard fan altogether a better experience.

There are also some other issues with the plot.
Djarak says he wants to help his people but at the end when the golem appears, he takes the first ship he can find and runs?
Helledryn's entire story line is flat. In the beginning she helps styx, with no real reason why. Sure, there is the weapon, but once they discover the truth she just goes flat. It is also never concluded in the end. After you save her from the troll she just dissapears. It feels like a very unfinished end and I would have liked her story to be a little better as she does play a huge part in the entire game

In my opinion, Master of shadows had a brilliant sotry line. The plot always has a twist and the developement of the characters were so in depth that you felt betrayed in the very end. I was expecting the same kind of experience with Shards of darkness, but it felt flat and undeveloped. Not at all on the same level plot wise as the first.

I still loved the game, and i would recommend it to anyone wanting to play a stealth type of game with some quirky comments and references to other games and movies.
