For combined arms military game play it doesn't get any better than this.

If you're interested in the Cold War and have some familiarity with the armies, tactics, vehicles and weapons of the period, then I would recommend this CDLC. If the CW doesn't interest you or you;re unwilling to learn a bit about the period, then you're probably just wasting your time and money if you buy it.

As a US Army veteran of the period that spent some time in W Germany during the CW, I found it to be quite excellent but with a few reservations. This CDLC has it's faults such as not being quite complete (no helicopters, artillery or mortars yet) but the developers have promised free updates to expand the content and the SP campaign is perfectly playable at the moment. If you're having problems with the campaign, I would suggest visiting the Arma 3 CDLC section of the BIS forums. You're problem has probably already been addressed and if it hasn't then you can always post a comment. However, if you're going to the forum to be rude and complain about how you think that GM is "trash" or whatever other derogatory term you want to call it, then you're probably wasting your time as it's unlikely that you'll get any attention that isn't of a negative nature. GM also has a Discord channel where questions can be asked or suggestions can be made.

Ignore the harsh metacritic scores. I haven't bought the game yet, but I did play it during free weekend. If you loved the first one (like me) despite its issues, and jsut want the same game but with a bigger world and some new weapons/mods, then this is a solid title.
