Couch co-op interface is badly integrated. My friends and I tried out the game through Steam Remote Play (I assume it works the same as local co-op) and I haven't experienced such a lack of intuitive design in a while. Local co-op is "technically" online, as you can't play without an internet connection, but surprisingly no online players would ever join my hosted game. Split screen co-op is an absolute joke, we can't even play quick matches or join custom games.


The actual splitting of the screen is terrible, a significant part of my monitor is being covered by black bars (yes, I made sure the resolution was correct). Such a simple game should have shared screen instead of split screen (similar to the Moving Out series as the experience was very smooth and pleasant).


The idea of the game is very cute and entertaining but sadly it's not playable with friends unless everybody owns the game (and there goes the whole "Shared/Split Screen Co-op" advertisement). Personally, I don't think it's worth the price, even on sale. Having followed the development of the game since 2020, I am very disappointed and will probably request a refund.
