There are two games in this pack, 999 and its sequel, Virtue's Last Reward. In each game, nine seemingly random people have been abducted, given numbered bracelets, and are forced to work their way through a labyrinthine location full of puzzles. The story is split through visual novel segments and room-escape point and click adventures, and you have to choose your path, uncover the mystery and hopefully reach the best ending... but it might not be quite as simple as that. Nothing and nobody is quite what they seem in the Nonary Games.

999 is one of my favourite games ever, the story and characters are really captivating and unique, there are some great twists and turns and it has just enough weird science to make things interesting without going overboard. It's best to play it on the DS if you can, because it does some great things with the screens that don't quite have the same impact on the PC, but this version is still amazing! It really is worth the price for 999 alone.

VLR is a more futuristic sequel, and the weird science is turned way up. It's still a great story with even more twists and turns, but it's not quite as grounded as 999 which might put some people off, and it's very long with a lot more branches in the story, but if you're into it it's a very fun ride that will keep you guessing all the way to the true ending and beyond.

On the puzzle side, they're nothing super difficult and it's rare that you'd get completely stuck, but they're still a good challenge with s. In VLR each room has a puzzle to reach the exit as well as a bonus puzzle which is more challenging and often pushes the elements of the main puzzle a little further than you might have needed to just to escape.

As for Zero Time Dilemma... maybe don't just play that one.
