Other then some fixes this is a solid game. If you've played the original dragon's dogma and had wished for more then look no further.

It's a mobile game that was turned into a real game for 30 bucks. While I applaud them for making the game widely available the game felt incredibly clunky and even just the dash and jump was stilted in terms of momentum.

I wouldn't recommend this if this is someone's first megaman game. Even for a diehard megaman fan it's questionable at best.

It's not a bad game but it may trigger motion sickness for some people. I didn't realize that was happening to me until I noticed another review stating they were also having this problem. So if you must play this game, only play it in small amounts, stop immediately if you feel any symptoms even if slight.

In short this is what I would call a mac n cheese game.

Now why would I say this? Mac n cheese is my comfort food after a long day with life. It's something to relax to. This is what that game is like.

Just like mac n cheese, you customize and experiment with it anyway you want to. Add spices and/or different cheeses to give it a different flavor. It's still mac n cheese at the end of the day and that's fine. It's something to always come back to after a long break from it.

In short, if you havn't brought the game at this point, you never will and if you brought it because you liked it on console....hoo boy, you are going to love the staggering amount of mods here.

Just for the love of all things, buy ONLY on sale and not full price.

So far so good. So far it plays like Jet set radio for good or bad depending on people. For people new to the series the movement are going to feel clunky and frustrating, for those that played Jet set radio before it's going to feel like riding a bike all over again.

Honestly this game feels like Jet set radio if it had continued after future in terms of game play. I will note this review is only my 40 minute impression of it.

My only gripes is the story but I didn't expect anything ground breaking when starting the game. It's clear the gameplay and style is meant to do most of the heavy lifting. With that said, I say if you liked Jet set radio and future it's going to feel like a return to form for you.

So either I didn't realize there was an accessibility features in the game and I'm dumb or it was recently added. Either case there is something for those that do get motion sickness. Take this with a grain of salt as this comes from a secondary source but it's suggested to turn off screen shake and screen flash to help with the motion sickness. I tried it for a little while and felt alright. I need to spend more time playing the game to see if there's still motion sickness but so far so good on my end.

Thank you Motion Twin for adding in accessibility features to you game. It's a 10/10 for me now.

This is an edit by the way from a previous review that gave a negative score over motion sickness with the game.

So before I start my review I have to address the large elephant in the room. This game has stutter issues. For me it was enough to break immersion and take me out of the game. However thanks to the community that played before I had found a fix for this and haven't experienced any stutters other than once at the opening movie. If you're not willing to mod/change graphic card settings/live with the stutters, then this game may not be for you as of now and I suggest waiting until there's a fix.

As for the game itself, I say it's a solid game. It may be the nostalgia goggles and may be because the original was my first rpg but I'm liking the characters so far and the interaction.

Is this game fun for me? Yes, it's fun. I don't feel I need to do a lot of work to have fun and I have yet to groan when I see a combat encounter coming. Here's to the next two chapters and for good if not better quality with each one.

10/10

I'll start with this question. Would you play a game heavily based off the Saint Seiya that's also asking for subscriptions to actually play it?

Let me explain and due to the byond website no longer having it, it's just my word to be taken with a grain of salt. The subscription system first started off as getting a class that didn't really matter to have or not and the freedom to make clothes and wear certain exclusive ones. Now, if you want to be anything but a human you either have to hope rng loves you, wait nearly a month for your character to die for again more rng or just buy the subscription which unlocks all races.

Some of the races are hit or miss, and others have game breaking potential but not in the way you think. The cost of a subscription was around 14 dollars. 14 dollars to actually play the game. I will note that Final fantasy 14 has a lot more features and they ask for 2 dollars less with their subscription. And then there's the lifetime subscriptions it once had. When the game was a fledgling in byond the owner did offer lifetimes for 50 dollars. Over the years the price increased until it was removed. Now for 50 dollars, you can least get a year of subscription. And I have not even scratched the surface of the micro transactions it has on top of the subscription fee.

If this wasn't bad enough the owner tends to be quite shady at times. When the sub did have a lifetime option, he did cut the price down to least being considered to be brought. You think the next year he would do the same but in that year he increased the prices of sub just a week before Black Friday and then lowered the prices for them. The discounts this time was barely a discount.

Now this was subscriptions, it was recently moved to Pateron where if you want to have nearly all races unlocked you need to pay 20 dollars a month for it. I say nearly because the new race cost a whopping 50 dollars month to have a guaranteed chance to play. Let me remind you, your in game character only lives for about a month in real life. So when your character dies, it's nearly about time to subscribe again. And since without the sub you'll have to gamble with rng for the next month...you can see the problem with this. Let me remind you again that this used to have a lifetime plan of just 50 dollars. Due to this, I really say to save your money for any other mmo that would have more features packed into it.

One thing I will applaud is the owner being brave enough to place this game into steam but this game in all honesty, is not ready. It needs a lot more time in the oven as those from previous reviews can go more in depth with. My only concern is the greed I feel I see in this game. It's too much in my opinion.

Edit: 4 years later after review there's now a patron. There are now 100 dollar a month options for races that are locked behind the paywall and a 1k a month option to be an 'investor' for this game. I'll just repeat my previous statement from before. This feels incredibly greedy. There are a lot of better games you can spend your money on. Some with even just a one time payment with no extra hooks attach *Cough* Baldur's Gate *Cough*
