Great atmosphere, flavor text, and puzzles. Reminds me of old Flash escape the room games, with a great art style, superb voice acting, and gripping story.

I very highly recommend ULTRAKILL. Compared to other retro FPS shooters like Prodeus and Dusk, I think this game is by far most fun. I went in mostly blind, and feel that really enhanced the experience.

I was already loving the game, 3 hours in, and then I played the endless mode (Cybergrind). I am NEVER interested in wave-to-wave challenges like this, but this game does it right. It shows the amount of care that developer put in, because it's SO fun. I won't get deep into it, but this mode is well done.

The gameplay is fast paced but not also not overwhelming. In ULTRAKILL, you have to risk being nearby to absorb the blood of killed enemies, similar to in the new DOOM games. This makes killing each enemy feel rewarding, because you might be at full health one second, close to death, and back to full health depending on how well you play and how you kill enemies.

Many times in games like this, I dread having to kill each enemy and losing too much health or ammo. That's another thing that makes the game fun... no ammo! Instead, your guns have cool-downs. There is a time and place for ammo in game, but in ULTRAKILL, it'd only slow you down. You can explore levels completely & not have to worry about running out of ammo, and for me, that makes things more enjoyable. I tend to be a completionist, and sometimes trudging through levels balancing health and ammo can become a chore, In ULTRAKILL, the way health and ammo are setup makes everything just seamless and fun.

I also love games that do have the added stress of managing ammo, but it's great to play a game where nothing feels like a chore, and the goal of the game seems to be to make the player feel powerful. It's not a 'turn your brain off game' since it does require a lot of thinking. However, I love that everything seems designed to be seamless and stress free.

My favorite part of the game so far is the maps. I find a lot of retro FPS games like Prodeus have same-y maps that blend into each other, making them not very memorable and easy to get lost in. This was a huge issue with Prodeus for me. I felt the levels all looked similar, and were either too long or too samey to stand out at all. After playing 7 levels of ULTRAKILL, that is not an issue. Since these maps are what the entire game takes place in, it's great that each one is recognizable from each other. And the same goes for the rooms within the levels. I feel the game overall is very well designed, and each level is fun to speed your way through. The first 5 levels provide a look/feel that may make you think the game is just another 'shooter in a bloody Hell' game, but you'll soon realize that the game has much more variety to offer.

Finally, I also enjoy the tone/vibe of the game. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but also you can tell the developer put a lot of time into designing the story/world. Bits and pieces of lore are fed to you in an un-obstructive way, and so far each bit has been well written and intriguing. While the world the game takes place is in ridiculous, I also want to learn more about it. The interesting story and the color/brightness of the game provide a fun game to explore.

ULTRAKILL provides a different overall vibe than a game like Dusk. Both provide bleak worlds, but ULTRAKILL Is bright and colorful, while Dusk is more dull and spooky.

You can tell first and foremost the point of the game is to have fun. It doesn't waste your time with dumb gimmicks and a badly written story. It's fun from the first second, and it keeps that momentum going, doing everything it can to just let you enjoy yourself. The tutorials are seamless and it's easy to boot up, go back to previous levels, and search for secrets.

I am shocked how much more I enjoy this than Prodeus and Dusk, since I thought I'd be burnt out. I've also beaten the original Doom, Doom 3D, Doom 2016, and Doom Eternal. So, I thought I'd seen the best of this genre. But Ultrakill does things in such a loud way, and a unique way, that I am blown away. I didn't even mention the weapons, which are all awesome.

I think it'd be very hard to not play this game and have fun. and for me, that is the most important aspect a game can have. It's great!

It's fun! I don't often get this sucked into AAA games and tend to play mostly indies. But this is just a great game. The work and passion put into it shows within the first 10 minutes. I highly recommend this game. I am not a big Final Fantasy fan. The only FF game I've played besides this is the FF4 remake on DS. But, I've had an interest in the series for awhile. I got this knowing that the PS5 version is well regarded, with a few complaints about the change in story. And, I also got it knowing about the various PC port issues. So far I've had no issues with the PC port, and I am extremely happy with the purchase. It has extremely high production value, and it shows everywhere.

I thought I knew the story of FF7 somewhat, but actually experiencing it is a whole different thing. The dialogue is well written, and the story is engaging. The voice acting is great, and not corny or forced, except with a few NPC characters. All of the main characters are voiced well and animated great. Compared to something like Fall Out or The Outer Worlds, the mouth movement and facial animations are superb. You can sense the emotions of the characters, and they don't feel flat. I wasn't expecting this at all, and I am so pleasantly surprised. It even made me laugh a few times! The conversations are legitimately funny, and remind me of the humor in Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi games. Any game that can make me crack a smile gets a big thumbs up.

I wasn't expecting this to to run on my PC, since the GPU is not great (Nvidia T600), but it actually runs super well on low settings. My CPU is 'AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X' and I have 128 GB of DDR4 RAM, so that helps. There aren't that many graphics settings to tweak, unless you want to do things the hard way. But, just by setting the few options offered to low, the game ran at a consistent 60 FPS. I played for 3 hours straight and only saw one minor graphical glitch. I had NO crashes either. After all I had heard about this being a rushed port, I am shocked with how well it ran. I was worried because I'd heard how this was a bad PS5 port, but I've played way way worse. I am so happy that it runs this well, I thinking it'd not run at all! I've had issues running Elden Ring at a constant 60 FPS, but somehow this game ran great.

The complaints about the port as a whole are valid, with there not being many PC graphics settings and some things feeling cheap in terms of textures. However, after playing for 5 hours, I don't have any complaints. As long as it runs good, looks good, and is fun, I'm satisfied.

I am blown away how amazing this game looks, even on low graphics settings. I've also played Resident Evil Village and Elden Ring this year, and I'd say out of these 3, this game has the cleanest/most distinct art style and is the most visually stunning. When you are in the Slums early on and look up, it's breathtaking.

I feel this game does a really good job of mixing the present day world with crazy fantasy elements. Somehow, it works, and it feels very well thought out. The way people talk about things in the game like bomb threats feels very realistic.

Yes, it may be expensive, but I believe it's well worth it, at this point. I am currently at Chapter 5, and found it hard to stop playing. I got the game for $40 on sale, and for the production value offered (great story, combat, cutscenes), that is well worth it, and so would $60. However, anything above $60 is going past the point of it being worth it.

I do have some gripes, like with combat feeling extremely easy for the few 1-2 hours, making it hard to get a hang of all the abilities. By the time you want to use a spell, chances are the enemy is already dead. But, now in Chapter 5, I've realized it quickly ramps up, and that is with me upgrading things at every chance. I am playing on the hardest difficulty available out of the gate (Normal), and I've heard the Hard mode you unlock after beating the game is much more challenging.

I am far away from beating the game, but from what I have played, I can say it's worth it. The joy I've gotten out of playing it so far has already made the $40 for it justified.

Such a unique game with really great writing. The plot kept me consistently interested, and there were some elements of back-tracking where you have to use items for small puzzles that I enjoyed, because they made me feel smart :)

A few years ago after playing The Witcher 3, I tried out Fallout 4, and couldn't get into it. I was skeptical to try out this game because of the similar game play styles, but I found myself instantly engaged in The Outer Worlds. I like the setting much more than Fallout, it's very colorfful and more fun for me to run around in/get lost in. The quests have a good amount of variety, and so far I've been playing VERY slow and having a good time upgrading my gear and finding hidden items. For me to play 10 hours of a game like this means it's good in my eyes, because usually I'm so antsy with games. The dialogue is great, and I look forward to playing more!

So much more addictive than I thought it'd be! Got my $$$'s worth 2 days of playing. I have 9 hours as of writing, not sure how much I'll end up having in a year from now, but for the price, this game is definitely worth it. Great community too for such a simple seeming game. I had heard reviewers say it was addictive, but I was skeptical. I love how quickly the game ramps up, compared to something like Binding of Isaac, where it can take awhile to get a run going if you have bad RNG. In Nova Drift, you level up so fast, have lots of customizability in each run, and can easily swap between 'builds'. Leveling up fast is really what kept me glued to the screen, because every time you level up, you pick a new upgrade. It's so easy to hop into a game and play for 30 minutes, and get a huge dopamine rush. Plus, there's lots of synergies to learn, and it's fun figuring them out yourself. Some items pair terribly with each other, and it's fun to figure that out.

It's so good! Love the new options for Monty (cat and hamster). Harder than the original, and even more fun.

Basically just a centralized hub for Serious Sam but with very nice sleak design and easy customization options for all the games and adding on mods. Really well done!
