Early Access Review
2 weeks out of Early Access, the game is super fun with lots of content. There are definitely places for the game to improve, but even if they never made any new updates, I could keep playing for hours upon hours.

A little janky in places, especially the voice acting, though I've heard that was done on purpose to give it a camp-y feel. BUT, I had fun throughout, especially unraveling the story with different journal entries from different characters. Very spooky and dark subject matter, and pretty disturbing. Combat was really simple, and some puzzles were frustrating. Regardless, overall I had a great time with the game and the pacing was pretty good. It never really dragged, and was an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

One of the most impressive game(s) I've ever played. Each game I have played really feels like it's from the 80s. Each one is polished, and has its own charm. There are plenty of big, or 'epic' games as UFO 50 classifies them, and plenty of games you can boot up and play quickly. This has quickly risen to the top of my favorite games of all time!

One of the most addictive games I've played in a long time. Really pretty looking, runs super well, and the gameplay is SMOOTH. I also really am enjoying the story. It's a very ambitious game, and I think it does everything well. The story sequences are especially polished and feel straight out of the newer Resident Evil games.

The main (non Tower of Sisyphus) 'runs' do get pretty long, making it not feel so much like a rogue-like to me, more of a mix between linear game + rogue-like. It took my 5 hours to get through biomes 1-3. That's long! Compare that to other rouge-likes like Binding of Isaac where the runs are typically much shorter (and frequent). It definitely IS a rogue-like though, it just feels very different from other games I've played where in a play session you'll do multiple runs. With Returnal, I found each run to be way longer.

However, the Tower of Sisyphus runs are a nice diversion from the main runs. They are faster paced and just focused on combat. No running around big maps, looking for secrets. These runs are more like Binding of Isaac and they offer their own scoring system.

I'm in shock at how polished this game is! It is just plain fun.

Early Access Review
I wanted to brush up my digital logic skills and i found this game recommended online. The soundtrack is BOPPIN and gets you in that nerdy coding mood. So far, the game is presented nicely and did a good job of teaching me the basics. There are video solutions as well, which is great. I'm excited to get deeper into the game and create some complicated designs.

This is my first Tekken game, and I love it so much. There is so much polish and goofy fun charm to it, especially in the Arcade Quest. There are tons of features for beginners, and it feels very welcoming. It is definitely overwhelming, but it's presented in a very beginner friendly way.

I do agree with a lot of the points from the negative reviews, about how the game isn't changed enough from ROR1 and doesn't improve on ROR1 enough. Also, lots of mechanics from ROR2 could have been implemented here, as others point out. But, after spending 5 hours with the game, I want to jump right back in. So, I can recommend it. It's lots of fun, and joining random online co-op lobbies is great.

Also, the new Providence Trials are actually pretty fun I think.

Though, that is one negative point I have. The game could do a better job of explaining how co-op works. Do we share money for example? It doesn't explain that, as far as I know. Maybe I missed it.

Also, there REALLY should be a way to not pick up items in co-op. I've seen others bring this up as well. If you want your friend to have an item, there's no way to not pick it up. Adding the option, or making it default, to have to manually pick it up, would help a lot.

Great sense of exploration and mystery. Combat is basic but fun. There are some bugs and weird design choices, but I'm sure in a few weeks they'll be fixed. For example, there's an easy to pull off double jump that isn't intentional. This lets you access late game areas pretty easy. Though, this level of jank does add some fun to the game. It's just not as polished as a large budget game, and that's OK. I've been really enjoying wandering around each area. The music is great and varied too. And, there's lots of secrets to find. Really fun finding hidden areas and getting cool items. Overall, I'd give the game a 8.5/10 right now. There's still a ton left for me to do as well, though I don't think my score will change much.
