A classic, but not for the faint of heart. This is easily the most prominent shooter of all time. I have been playing since 1.6 on and off and I am very excited to see the progression of the title with the release of the CS2 beta. Communication and map knowledge is key within competitive play and very much distances the title from other shooters in the genre. While at times I have hoped for more extreme changes to the title, I believe keeping to this game's roots with each iteration is what has kept it alive (e.g., lack of ADS for iron sights, managed recoil during continuous fire, bunny hopping, classic map layouts, refined programming, etc.). On the downside, while the competitive scene has grown, I will say it saddens me that community server non-competitive play has largely evaporated. The game has also grown much more toxic over the years.

Not the smoothest running game ever, but a glass of cold water in today's current market. No more bullet sponges and ridiculous flicks from the 16 year-old who slept in class all day just to ♥♥♥♥ on you when you get home from work. If you like shooters and can be patient, this title deserves a chance.

Surviving in this game is in itself an accomplishment. The lack of a kill feed and rampant poor shots will not save you. A stray bullet will quickly find you bleeding out in the dirt.

One caveat - with most great things, when it's good it's fantastic and when it's bad you'd rather be scrubbing the toilet. This is no safe haven for selfish tactics and will remind you that you cannot escape the negative side of the human element. Whether you are at school, work, with family & friends, in the military, or online; ♥♥♥♥-bags run rampant.

Excellent game for the price assuming you're not unloading your credit card on skins and operators. This game is beautiful and full of surprises given the variety of operators and environments; but as with most shooters the game is rampant with racial slurs, "toxicity", cheating, and boosting via alternate accounts. If you've ever had a love for Counter-Strike, Battlefield, or shooters in general you should give this one a shot.

Keep in mind, the initial learning curve is high; not due to general aim, but due to an awareness of the map layouts and how one can both abuse and counter operators with the interactive environments. Plenty in the community will assist with the learning curve, but you'll just have to ignore the others that are more hostile. I'd argue the community would be even larger if it wasn't for the server issues months into the release. It should also be noted that the developers have done a very good job of releasing fresh content on a regular basis.

Stop reading this, you are wasting your time, buy this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

Picked this bad boy up along with my Steam Controller not expecting much (better played with an Xbox One controller), but this game blows Mario Kart out of the water.
