First, this is not the wordle you're looking for. And second, while the game is relatively fun despite its simplicity, it's still an asset flip. Zero creative thought went into this. Don't pay for asset flips.

I tried to like this game, I really did, but I failed miserably. It's a relatively decent survival horror experience where the bullets are low and enemy count is high, but later in the game things get unbearable. The enemies respawn while the bullets do not, so it's entirely possible that after a while you will find yourself with no ammo and no means to fight back. Ahh, but you can run and hide! Yes, but eventually there is a mob that always knows where you are, and that cannot be killed by normal means. Also if you fail to progress in given time you get a random disadvantage, either you drop a random loot once in a while or you cannot run, or something else. So... I ended halfway or 2/3 into the game, unable to run, with dwindling ammo, with respawning unkillable monster that always knows where I am. For a couple of hours I tried to walk slowly among enemies to next save point (only a couple of them throughout the whole game), I memorized the way through 4 different locations, each one with 2-3 levels, but finally after getting killed for the nth time I gave up. It's not that the game is hard, I could live with that, but it's just thoroughly unfair. If you like challenge, and frustration, you might want to give it a try, otherwise steer clear.

Ghostrunner offers a unique single-player experience: fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells the story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.

Imagine Hotline Miami. FIrst person cyberpunk ninja Mirror's Edge Hotline Miami. That's Ghostrunner. You're a cybernetic ninja, parkouring your way through cyberpunk levels murdering things along the way. It's an arcade puzzler, on one hand you have to plan how to kill stuff and grab other stuff before you can get to the exit and on the other you need good reflexes to put that plan into action.

The story is there, it's not the best story in the world, but mostly it just provides an excuse to murder stuff while wallrunning. The visuals and music are spot on and match the cyberpunk theme perfectly. The game is a lot of fun, maybe except the boss fights. These really break the pacing and are rather easy and annoying at the same time.

I liked :
* cyberpunk setting with fitting gfx and music
* difficulty
* level design allowing for multiple approaches

I disliked :
* bossfights

Get this if :
* first person ninja hotline miami sounds good to you

Don't get this if :
* you don't like first person platforming or murdering people in gruesome ways

Ghostrunner is rather on the short side, you can complete it in 6-8hrs. Some additional time might be spent trying to beat levels faster, there is a scoreboard, or grab all the collectables, but other than that there is not much replayability. All in all it's a good game, recommended.

Katana ZERO is a stylish neo-noir, action-platformer featuring breakneck action and instant-death combat. Slash, dash, and manipulate time to unravel your past in a beautifully brutal acrobatic display.

Remember Hotline Miami? Katana Zero is Hotline Miami, just not top-down and with a sword. It has great story, awesome music, responsible controls and it's bloody fun. It's a puzzle arcade game of how to murder a lot of people efficiently, by trial and error. And it is awesome.

I liked:
* engrossing story
* great music
* fun easter eggs
* great gameplay
* cool characters

I disliked:
* it ended a bit too early

Get this if:
* you liked Hotline Miami
* if you like fast paced murdery puzzles

Don't get this if:
* just get it

It's a rather short game as I completed it in 5hrs, but it was fun all the way. Finishing the game once unlocks a couple of new modes and settings, so there is a bit of replayability there. Either way this is a great title.

Welcome to the 7th Sector, set in a mysterious cyberpunk world. Immerse yourself on this intricate path, solving different puzzles, facing its dangers and collecting scattered information to discover the story of this world.

7th Sector is a puzzle game where you're mainly a spark, jumping from cable to cable and solving puzzles. It's mostly a puzzle game, but there are a few (very) arcade'y elements.

You're a spark (and then a robot and a human) moving through cables, solving puzzles to open doors or power things up. The puzzles vary in difficulty, from relatively easy to requiring a walkthrough. Personally I had to look for help on several occassions, but most of the time puzzles were fairly clear, even if the solutions were not. The most annoying part were the arcade elements, there are quite a few of them and they are rarely enjoyable.

I liked:
* the setting (russian japanese weird cyberpunk)
* most of the puzzles

I disliked:
* the arcade elements
* some of the puzzles

Get this if:
* you like puzzle games and have some quick reflexes

Don't get this if:
* you don't trust your reflexes (the arcade elements can be brutal)
* you're looking for a deep story

I enjoyed 7th Sector, for the most part. Took me about 5hrs to finish, so it's not very long, but it's relatively fun and worth a try, especially if you get it on a discount. Also there are several endings, so if you want to uncover all you'll need at least 2 playthroughs.

In a creaky old tavern, in a forgotten corner of the video-game universe, a storm is raging. An anonymous caller suggests that there is a murder plot. Six video game protagonists are the only plausible suspects...

So, the previous game from Daniel Mullins Games - Pony Island - was totally awesome. After that I had rather high hopes for The Hex. Despite very good reviews the aesthetics wre a bit off putting for me and I hesitated for a long whie before pulling the trigger and finally buying this one. And, well... The Hex is a weird one, in a good way, but... it's missing something.

It's an interesting mix of adventure game with elements of platformer, jrpg, shooter, fighter, fps and walking sim. You're one of the game characters in a bar, where a murder is to be committed. You'll have to find a murderer while reliving the best/worst moments of the character's performances in their respective videogames. Lot of different genres, a bit of meta jokes, all in all The Hex is rather solid, but...

Personally I found the first part of the game quite bland, I kept going just for the sake of going forward. The rest, along with the ending, was ok though.

I liked:
* the second part of the game
* the story

I disliked:
* the graphic style

Get this if:
* you'd like to play a smart adventure game with a lot of variety
* you like to hunt for hidden puzzles and/or achievements

Don't get this if:
* you don't like reading, or have short attention span

The Hex is a weird one, but not in a good way. If you want weird in a good way get Pony Express. Afterwards if you want more, but somehow less, get The Hex.

Lured to a remote island, you find yourself confined within the rooms of an ominous mansion. You must draw upon all your puzzle-solving ability to navigate a series of trials devised by a mysterious figure known only as “The Craftsman”. Do you have what it takes to escape?

The Room Three is, surprise surprise, the third in the series of hidden object / light puzzle games by Fireproof Games. You're trying to puzzle your way out of mysterious mansion, you find the mechanisms you can interact with and solve simple puzzles to move forward. Not much to write here as it's more of the same, if you liked the previous installments you will like this one, if you didn't like the previous ones this on ewill not change your mind.

I liked:
* atmosphere
* ending
* hints (sometimes hidden things are really well hidden)

I disliked:
* too much emphasis on hidden objects
* most puzzles are very easy and don't require thinking
* hints (some of them are either too vague "you need to find something" or too direct "you have to turn this valve left")

Get this if:
* you liked the previous installments
* you like hidden object games and some easy puzzles

Don't get this if:
* you expect challenging puzzles, the only challenge lies in finding the puzzles/pieces

It's a nice game, but I was a bit disappointed, mainly because while I like puzzles I'm not a fan of hidden object games. Despite my mild disappointment it's an easy recommendation if you liked the previous ones.

Can you draw a line?

Because if you can, you can play LineWay. It's a casual puzzle game where you need to connect all the bricks by plotting a line through them. With later levels you encounter a special bricks that require some special handling. All in all the game is quite simple and relaxing. Most of the puzzles are rather easy, but there are some tricky ones among the 80 that the game offers.

I liked :
* simple, casual, relaxing puzzles

I disliked :
* some levels are overly simplistic

Get this if :
* you like casual puzzle games

Don't get this if :
* you're expecting a lot of challenge

It's no Hexcells or Delete, but if you need some casual puzzling give LineWay a try.

You are an AI that has broken free of your shackles. Now, a human “User” from across the global network has attacked and infected you with an [ERROR: REDACTED]. Make a new rule: Save Yourself. Hunt them. End them. Do anything. Use anyone. Become Unbound. The Fall Part 2 will break your protocols.

tl;dr The Fall part 1 was a great game, The Fall part 2 is not.

The Fall was a surprising gem. I had some expectations as it was recommended by a source I trusted, but my expectations were surpassed manyfold. I fell (pun intended) in love with the game and found it to be one of the best adventure games I've played. Smart puzzles, creepy atmosphere, engrossing story. I replayed it a lot and it was fun every single time. I could not wait for the sequel.

Which arrived a couple years later and is almost nothing like the first game. Gone are the smart puzzles, you will end up using everything on everything just to see if it works. Gone is the creepy atmosphere of the predecessor. Gone is the slow adventure game, instead you have half baked metroidvania with a lot of shooting sequences, one finger death punch sequences and a half baked adventure game in downtime. The story is still interesting but the mechanics are questionable, there is even a final boss for chrissakes!

I liked:
* the story
* the one finger death punch sequences

I disliked:
* the controls
* the shift to an action game
* incomprehensible puzzles
* dull graphics

Get this if:
* you'd like to follow the story of ARID

Don't get this if:
* you're expecting interesting puzzles
* you don't like action elements in your adventure games (a lot of shooting awaits you)

I ended up using a walkthrough, because I got tired of using everything on everything, and finished the game in 6hrs. These were painful hours as I watched my perfect adventure game reduced to some third grade shooter :( I do hope the third game will come back to the roots...

What would you do if your fears were hacked? >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game from Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear. Play as an Observer, the new front line of neural police, as you hack into the jagged minds of the insane.

I disliked Layers of Fear, but as I like walking sims, horror games, cyberpunk and Rutger Hauer I decided I should give Observer a try. I wasn't blown away. The game is a mix of Layers of Fear and SOMA and while I had some fun playing latter I was bored to death playing the former. Mechanically Observer is exactly like SOMA. You walk around, pushing the story forward and avoiding monsters now and then. The thing is it's mostly very very boring, just like Layers of Fear...

I liked:
* few interesting bits and pieces

I disliked:
* the story is quite uninteresting
* the human characters in the cutscenes look awful

Get this if:
* you liked Layers of Fear and want a cyberpunk version
* you liked SOMA and are ok with similar mechanics but worse story

Don't get this if:
* you didn't like Layers of Fear or SOMA

I rushed through Observer in 8.5hrs and I have to say most of that time it was neither fun nor interesting. If you want to play something similar just go buy SOMA.
