Loved this! Been following the progress for a long time. Did not disappoint. The game ran great with zero performance issues for me. The environment, music, and game play was exactly what I have been looking for in a game. No details have gone overlooked. Looking forward to the full release!

I typically don't leave reviews on games but being one of my all time favorites, I felt it was warranted.

- The Good -

They have taken the original game and modernized it just enough to make it feel like a fresh new experience without taking away from any of the core elements that made the game as great as it was.

The new sound track takes some of the old catchy songs we all loved and does a great job of bringing them back to life.

The voice acting is pretty cheesy and at times feels very amateur. But, it is extremely nice to not have to read through hours and hours of content like the old days. Plus it really helps give personality to each individual character and I find myself talking to the random npc's that I typically wouldn't just to hear what they have to say.

The combat changes feel more fluid yet at the same time exactly like the original.

It's Beautiful!

- The Bad -

The game has some random issues that are pretty annoying. for instance, the game wont play sound over my speakers only my headphones.

There are random stutters and low frame rates with my 1070 ti and i5-8600k.

The interface seems like they did the minimal amount of work possible in an attempt to keep it like the original, which in my opinion takes away from the idea of modernizing the graphics.

The character lips do not move in cut scenes with the voices.

No online multiplayer. Makes it difficult to play with childhood friends that you played the original with, however there are options available to make this possible.

-Overall-

I really have enjoyed this experience and even with the bugs and nuances I will continue to play this amazing game. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but it is easy to look past the random issues you run into and just appreciate the game for what it is. With that being said, I do believe the game is severely overpriced in its current state and to charge nearly as much as a new release for something that is basically a reskinning with modern music and voice acting seems a little extreme. I have a feeling this game will be on sale frequently. So if you are on the fence about it, just wait.
