Finally Quake gets the treatment it deserves! This is an artifact of video game history that can still hang with the big boys of the genre. Imagining myself in 1996 with the physical shareware copy enjoying this game, as if the first time, in 2021 feels like some sort of time slip. The growling Nine Inch Nails soundtrack also somehow got grimier and more seditious, almost as if it was constructed to be appreciated in today's climate. The whole package seems vital and not a nostalgia trip.

My Game of the Year 2021 and it's only March! This game is super duper creative, and like Hazelight's other titles, really doubles down on the multiplayer mechanics. Somehow it all comes off natural and withe very little contrivance. I recommend playing this with your 7 year old son. You'll both be hooked!

Yeah, still the GOAT this year!

Edit: After completing this, I change my mind. The game is buggy, controls frequently stop responding, nothing feels tuned. Man,it started out great, but the cracks in the foundation soon gave way to tedium and a desire for it just be over.

This has been totally worth the wait. This must be the coziest zombie game ever. The art direction is top notch, making the world just drip with throwback zombie movie charm. The music almost steals the show, but the game play just keeps you locked in. This is quite simply the offspring of Return of the Living Dead and Pikmin. Braiiinnnnnss......

It's a new freakin BATTLETOADS game in 2020! One of the only positive things to happen this year. Buy it and make your NES owning self happy!
