I remember buying this game back in 1998 (I'm showing my age here..) for the PS1 and being in awe at how much of an improvement it was over the first Resident Evil. I played through the original countless times, mastering all the scenarios including Hunk and Tofu's missions. Considering this, I am quite nostalgic for this era of Resident Evil games.

However, this game exceeded all my expectations for what a proper RE remake should be. Gorgeous visuals, sound, and finely -tuned gameplay abound. It is downright scary at times, even more so than the original. I also felt that this version is more challenging than the original one...which is a nice bonus.
