A brilliant point&click/puzzle game with a twisted theme: Lovecraft and Edgar A. Poe had a baby and named him Hitchcock.

Gameplay consists of "interactive screens" where you follow the unfortunate events of the family Vanderboom, solving their problems or helping them create new ones. Rusty Lake makes you feel unease with suicide, murder, bodyparts etc. and isn't meant for everyone.

If you enjoyed The Last Door you might cherish this one too even though the atmosphere is darker and more straight forward here. The sense of mystery and weird made this short (and very cheap) ride worth it.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a simple, flashy and certainly gets your heart pumping.

First of all, combos and special attacks are easy to perform and even a button masher can get a feeling of being strong and doing awesome things with the chacters. There's a simple tutorial, combo tutorial and practise mode to hone your skills before hitting the story mode or arcade. Game got just released so I'm pretty sure there's plenty of fighters in the ranked mode too!

My xbox 360 controller works like a charm and I've heard that so does the keyboard, if you're into that. Negative reviews are all about someones hori crap4 not working or DBFZ not being Street Fighter. For me this is the first fighting game in a long time that feels fresh and fun.

Cons.

Hollow Knight is a fantastic, beautiful bugvania game with gentle nods towards Dark Souls -series.

Controls work like they should, the world is vast and full of secrets, bosses and challenges (also secret bosses). There's tons of lore that you collect in bits and pieces, mysterious and funny characters a plenty, in a well crafted world that makes you go aww at all the pretty colors and glitters. But my god the game is sad in every good way. Like when someone dies in anime and you didn't invite any ninjas to cut your onions.

But be warned, the game is hard. The bosses don't give a slack, they make mince meat out of you. Some areas are tricky to move in and you will face death. You will get stuck. The arena will kick your a$$ and the next boss wipes the floor with it. You will (almost) cry.

But. But. Butt. Yeah, last one is butt.

The basic playthrough is very doable even for the beginner and most of the difficulty comes from optional areas and bosses. There are situations when you might feel that this isn't what you signed for but in case you're casual player just pick a guide from the net of inter to rebuild your character for the fight. Some situations feel worse than they really are and using the right gear might just do the job.

But now I'm just rambling. Hollow Knight is not a good game. It's a great game. 95/100. Yeah, it's that good. Even the music is fantastic and I tend to listen the OST while I write. Pay the full price. Sales are for the weak.

Butt.

Game of execution and precision. And patience.
I'm afraid that you will be having a hard time if you lack any of those three qualities.

As competitive as I am I didn't find Superflight Zen at all, but rather a very intense and simple flight experience. The crazier you fly the more points you are awarded. Fly through loops and glide next to a wall and watch the points roll but beware! Crash to the wall and the "combo-streak" is gone :D

It's really quite casual game but fun to boot up in between other games.

Company of Heroes 1 is the pinnacle of WW2 RTS gaming and one of the best RTS games. Somehow Relic managed to create a wargame with arcadey gameplay AND an intense atmosphere. Units have skills like grenade throwing, upgradable weapons and you can also grab fallen weapons. Same goes for tanks which can be upgraded to clear mines or maybe your truck needs a missile battery?

The gameplay itself is intense territory controlling for resources and victory points. There are 3 different resources to control, in order from common to rare: Manpower, Munitions and Fuel. To put it short manpower is used to buy soldiers and light vehicles, munions are used for upgrades and special abilities and fuel is for heavy vehicles like tanks. There are 3 victory points that also need to be captured and once the points tick to zero the game ends.

Pros.
- Lenghty campaign that teaches a lot and let's you play with all sorts of toys before trying those out in MP
- 4 varied factions with very different playstyles (from turtling to aggressive offense)
- Tactical gameplay that doesn't require Starcraft level of APM
- All maps are different and not just mirrored
- Scenarios from 1v1 to 4v4, private agaisnt bots or multiplayer

Cons.
- Lots of people jumped to CoH2 even tho the first one is a tighter and more complete package (also no commander bs here...)
-->Might be hard to find good matches in multiplayer
- Graphics slightly dated (mostly in cutscenes)
- No achievements

Ending thoughts:
If you're into WW2, war or RTS games just buy it. I personally hold this game higher than SC1or2 and why wouldn't I, you don't get to shoot with Howitzers in those.

Hard puzzle-platformer in the veins of VVVVV but the gimmick of this clever little game is that you only use two buttons - to move left and right. Later on you will find other ways to move but even those use the same two buttons.

I'm using mechanical keyboard to play and sometimes it feels a bit clunky but that's a problem in my end. Game controls just as sharp as it's supposed to and I bet controller feels great in this one.

Even if the game is a bit short the price is right if you want to help keep the dev in business.

Pros.
- Simple but challenging
- Art and music (chiptune) take you back but are fresh enough for today
- Somewhat fast paced (if you have a clue what you're doing)
- Nice little snack between other games
- Lot's of check points (you're never far from the action)

Cons.
- Haven't finished the game yet but I've heard that it's a bit on the short side
- Some parts of the game are probably impossible for a casual gamer
- The story is nothing to write home about (I didn't buy it for the story, so this one doesn't bother me much)

Super Meat Boy with a shotgun.

Started my first game with a female character. Needs more challenge, go for iron-man mode. Two-handed axes are great, eh? Got killed in my first fight. Another try. Get some recruits to join my cause. Still can't fight for sh1t and take some arrows to the knees. Third try. Step one: Insult a lord. Duel. Lose.

I will keep dying until I die. I mean until I win of course.

Mount & Blade: Warband is a brilliant medieval simulator with challenging combat. And it runs pretty much on every toaster on this side of the galaxy. Many say that the main attraction here is the awesome multiplayer but I'm more than enjoying the ride as a single player. The game is hard and small mistakes can ruin your army but growing bigger and challenging excisting kindoms has a sweet taste of grandeur that makes me come back to this.
