I came in expecting an idle game that I could play for a couple minutes at a time and keep closed while I go on with my day. Unfortunately there is no offline production until you unlock a few upgrades later into the game - and even then it's very limited. It's a fun and addicting experience if you don't mind that, but it's definitely not what I want from an idle game.

I simply couldn't stop crying. What a beautiful story. Another masterpiece by Kan Gao.

I got this game from Humble Choice and decided to give it a shot, not knowing that it would captivate me in a way that few other games could. While playing I completely forgot about everything around me and got lost in a beautiful and fascinating world. If you like reading this is a must-play. It's one of those games I wish I could forget about and experience all over again.

Came for cute slimes, stayed for the systematic destruction of the stock market. Slimes are still cute though.

Don't get this if you're planning to play it with friends. While the game in itself is fun, has good combat & parkour as well as a great soundtrack, the online experience got me extremely frustrated.

Lots of bugs and constant disconnects, crashes or softlocks. At some point we spent more time restarting our games than actually playing it.

I don't even know where to start. To me, this game is as close to perfection as it gets. Gameplay, diffculty, level design, story, art direction, soundtrack, it all comes together to form this beautiful piece of art.

I've never experienced a difficulty curve as smooth as here. The game takes it slow, lets you learn the mechanics and master them at just the right pace. It always remains challenging without throwing too much at the player. And if you're still having trouble? Just turn on assist mode and customize the gameplay the way it fits you.

If it's not obvious from the screenshots, this game is beautiful too. I'm not usually a guy who likes pixel graphics but Celeste has so much personality that I can't help but adore it. What's even more impressive is that every level has its own unique look without distracting from the actual gameplay elements. Even though they blend in with the rest, you are still able to easily percieve what can and what cannot be interacted with.

The soundtrack completed the experience for me. Always good, always matching the atmosphere and always getting stuck in my head.

Fantastic game. I'll probably replay it every couple of years.

A story that I will most likely never forget. Despite the depressing setting & themes this game had truly magical moments. You won't regret giving it a chance.

Note that this review is coming from someone who has never played a horror game on his own before (except for Outlast, after watching countless walkthroughs beforehand). Also no spoilers.

This game is amazing for people getting into the horror genre.

It is a short and sweet experience that doesn't drag on at any time while also not overwhelming the player immediately. It relies on occasional jumpscares as well as high-adrenaline chase sequences, which to me is easier to handle than more atmospheric horror.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is simple and doesn't overwhelm the player with countless of features. There are 2-3 different types of puzzles found throughout the entire game. This small amount does not get stale however. Continuous new applications, combinations and scenarios help the variety and keep the experience fresh all the way to the end.

STORY

The story isn't very outstanding, but definitely enjoyable. It is easy enough to put the pieces together as you play and the game will give a satisfying conclusion.

GRAPHICS

I have to mention the graphics because this game is astoundingly pretty. At times this game has a colour palette that I am not used to seeing in the horror genre. Those strong, vibrant colours are great to look at and help give this game a unique feel to it. That is not to say that the game can't go for a gritty look especially during more intense scenes. Overall it's got a great look.

IN CONCLUSION

If you never tried horror before and wanna give it a go I can strongly recommend this game. More experienced players of this genre might feel a bit underwhelmed. but if you are looking for a few hours of fun you can't go wrong with this one.
