Having played Age of Wonders 3 for years, I'm a little intimidated by a whole new set of concepts and rules to learn. But I suppose Age of Wonders 3.5 with a sci-fi skin would have disappointed people too.

Great adaptation of Total War's system to a fantasy setting. This is my first experience with Warhammer but I like it a lot too.

I never played the originals, but this is good gory fun combat and scenary with the plot and dialog mercifully pared to a minimum. If you need every game to have characters and story, this game is not for you. If you want to wreck demons with awesome weapons, it's a blast.
