Make sure to bring a CPU and a GPU because it's wild!

I absolutely love these games, but the review will remain negative until an option to disable the horrendous day/night cycle is implemented (or the darkness levels are adjusted). This feels like it wasn't even play tested.

I honestly didn’t expect it, but the Silent Hill 2 remake has somehow surpassed the original. It looks absolutely stunning, with every detail brought to life in a way that captures the eerie atmosphere perfectly. The rearranged soundtrack is also on point—it's haunting and fits seamlessly with the game's tone. I’ve played up to the apartments so far, and that section was even more intense than it was before.

+ Gorgeous art and visuals
+ Fantastic OST and decent sound design
+ More responsive than DS3 (combat)
+ Challenging areas and bosses
+ Exploration feels great
+ No crashes so far (18 hours in)

- It's a technical nightmare on PC, with occasional stutters and inconvenient area load buffering
- 60fps cap with no arbitrary aspect ratio support

In short, fantastic game, borked PC port, pretty much what I expected.
Runs fine on my machine, but with occasional stutters and buffering here and there.
For reference, I have a 1070TI (+150mhz core / +400mhz mem), a R5 3600 and 16GB RAM running on up to date Windows 11. All my storage is comprised of Sata SSDs.

Yes, yes, yes and YES

Solid port, 15 hours and zero issues, runs extremely well.
The game itself has been available for a while (although not localized), so it shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone.

The Phantom Thieves are back once again and there is nothing more to say :P

Edit: Makoto is still the best girl, don't let anyone fool you :P
