Reasons why I loved this game:

1. Story and Character development: In this game you meet the basic characters that are mainly focused on in the comics (Joker, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, ect.), but you feel like you know them after you played the game or a few scenes with them. Not only that, but you can listen to tapes that are found all around the game, containing background information of the character. Whether its Killer Croc's moody attitude and the passion he has to kill Batman (and every other person who helps run the prison), or Harley Quinn's bipolar disorder and her over affectionate personality toward Joker. All and more can be found in the game. It does an excellent job of doing this, slowly revealing every character's strong suits, or weaknesses (Joker's desperation and depression).

2. Easter Eggs: There are so many Easter eggs in this game I can't even count it...
From characters to plans for the next game (Arkham City), anything you can think of is in the game. Changes in simple things (like a mannequin) can be leads for where the game is going. Even three different alternate endings to the game if you watch the credits. There are so many more but I don't feel like listing them all...

3. Gameplay: Simple controls tie in really nicely to the game.
Combat is simple, and you don't have to really know all of the quick fire actions to get the job done. Playing with a controller (Xbox One) is highly recommended though, remembering everything on a keyboard is considered impressive to me.

4. Vent Simulator: 2009.
There are so many vents in the game you have to climb into, it should be considered a crime, but it's not a negative. You don't have to climb into all of them all of the time. Sometimes vents are used for strategizing your next move or plan. Although annoying, they're useful.

5. Great for people who follow the comics. This game has been praised several times for being accurate to the comics. I personally never read a Batman comic, just followed the old TV shows and movies, but after playing this game I want to read one, badly.

6. Graphics on the highest setting it can go for, plus constant 60 fps for a game that was released in 2009, makes the game looks like that it just was released yesterday. FYI: If you can run it on the highest settings, you don't need the remastered version of it (Batman: Return to Arkham).
